How did Jennings go in trial #2?

Wasn't able to see the game yet on video and he didn't get mention in news items or here but his did In Jennings go? He looks to have trimmed down and improved fitness but no idea ok if it has helped on field performance. I'd love for him to improve and offer some real competition for wing spots. Has height and size but effort and speed was not really displayed in 2019.

He busted his head a bit.
Lots of blood.
Came off and didn't come back.

Didn't look horrible but that being said, didn't look great either.

Yeah not the best but not the worst.

I thought he was bog average tbh. I was really hoping he’d come good but I just don’t see it. He is just plain lazy and doesn’t run with any aggression.

There is no way he can play in front of Thompson, Nofo or Momi.

Unfortunately bog average gets you pretty close to a first grade start at WT. Probably our weakest position.

11 runs, 114m, 32pcm, 2 errors, 2 missed tackles.

He looked like had been told to take more early hit ups.

Made plenty of runs and made good metres when he did so, but most of our attack went to the opposite side and when the ball did go to the left MCK was playing centre most of the time so Jennings didn’t see the ball in any good attacking positions. Overall was solid but nothing special, which is probably better than how he played last year

Solid without being spectacular. Not afraid of the dirty hitups out of our end.

Lots of metres from RJ limited time.
CT is more creative and can sniff out a try

He put out some decent meters while we didn't have much ball. Noticed he was playing unlike much of last year.

CT's ball playing has gone from zero to being one of his strengths. He has looked like a 5/8 in the 9's and trials.

No, he hasn't.

If you didn't notice CT joining the backline on both sides, providing flat passes to put players into holes and throwing excellent cutout passes you may have been watching the wrong games.

I'd say he's behind Corey and Nofo. It's a difficult decision because they all have pros and cons, assuming Doueihi is a lock for FB.

Corey is by far the most agile and threatening, but small. His hitups can be fine but also he can get dominated. He's a better low kick fielder but questionable for bombs to the corner, simply because he isn't that large. Corey is a legitimate FB backup option and Nofo and Jennings are not.

Nofo has those Nofo defensive moments but is the better for hitups of the 3. People continue to mock his speed but he showed a clean pair of heels to score his first try and comfortably outpace Maumalo and Hiku.

Jennings is like middle-ground of the above. He runs straighter than Nofo and can make yards, but he always looks like he is jogging. He took a couple of nice inside jinks during the trial, but isn't much for busting tackles and I don't rate him trying to get on the outside of his opposite.

If Jennings had Corey's energy then it would be a no brainer - but he doesn't. I'd go with Corey and Nofo in Rd 1.

Also I have to say, if I recall Nofo doesn't play LHS in his career, I'd love to see Corey outside BJ and what he might do with those offloads. Obv Nofo scored two yesterday and he's a powerful option outside an already powerful centre and inside backrower, but if Corey isn't FB, I don't expect he can do so much about sniffing out the offload from the left wing.

I think you've mistaken CT for Doueihi. He joined in backline plays. CT offered support play. If Doueihi can learn to support more he'll be very good.

That's it.

Nofo and CT, shortest wingers in the NRL
But all heart and great runners.

With BJ and Momo inside em and king Douihei at the back, they provide some height and hopefully some aerial ability to cover the short boys.

Disagree with alot of peoples views tbh. Thought he ran it hard look solid on returns and went lookong for work.
Will be hard to see who takes the wing spot between him and thommo. Heart says thommo , head want a jennings size

So you didn't watch the 9's and trials.
