I just counted 34 players in the nrl squad which included the 3 developement players.in the koe squad there is 23 going by the website which included the train and trailers.Assuming all are fit come round 1 which is doughtful that would leave 17 from the top squad plus 23 from the koe.My point is when or how do those 40 players all get a game.It seems to me there's a lot left on the sidelines.Interested to see what you think

Combination of Flegg and other feeder teams. Natural attrition through injury. We are also carrying a few in our top 30 who are unlikely to see much FG. If we get a few injuries to top liners particularly in the halves it could be another long year.

There's NRL, KOE NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg that run at the same time.

The ones that don't make NSW Cup and are too old for Flegg will play Ron Massey Cup or local club A-grade.

If you're fit, you get a game somewhere.

That’s it, stay match fit, game ready, and when you get the call make the most of it.
Competition for spots and no free rides, will breed better footy players that are ready and hungry for their opportunity.
OMG am I talking about the Tigers?

Sadly i am sure there will be times when we wonder if we will be able to field a competitive team due to injuries and poor form.It happens to most teams including us every year with some teams using 30+ players in a season in first grade.
You need quality depth and for the first time our depth is looking decent

Do you think so?
We have cut some dead wood at the top but for mine, our depth players are quite light on still. A few are potentially good, but they require more time to develop.
As a result, I believe we will start the year well, fall in a heap during the mid season grind, before recovering late in the season - still missing the 8.

I don't expect to make the 8 either and i certainly was not claiming that we would, however our depth is much improved so the decline in quality with our back up players should be less obvious

2024 looks like the best for depth.. except for the halves.. hopefully that sorts itself out soon.. we'll need a bit of luck injury wise this year.. fingers crossed.. we're due for some.. last year was painful

Laurie, Will Smith...

Saw Brendan O'Hagan has left York to return to Australia....

Was only at the WM for a bi (Pre Covid) But seemed to have a bit of a dig....
Could be an option.....
He's the redhead who came from Newcastle then Canberra ?

He was pretty ordinary but we've got not a lot of options.

Throw 3 or 400k for 3yrs at the next best halfback coming through.. let Benji mould him .. looks like we've got Brooks for the next couple anyway.. if he comes good all the better.. if not we've got a backup..
