How Do You Rate Braith Anastas Game Today

They bought Anasta without realising that Sironen is a gun player. But also, they didn't seem to realise that the Tigers instead need more forwards with grunt.

Watto etc were saying Anasta is being viewed as a replacement for Ellis so expect to see him in second row. Was news to me.

Maybe he could shift to lock having Heighno move to 2nd row?

Or would Benji benefit with having the experience and cool headed Anasta in the halves with him, shifting Siro as an impact replacement off the bench?

Got a long time to discuss the options anyway…..

Warren Ryan said something quite interesting yesterday and it made me think

He said Smith is a pretty good judge of playing talent and he has slowly been moving Braith

Started at 6 , then 13 and then 12

His thought was then that he (Smith) obviously thought that Anasta's days were numbered and was doing it to force him out

When you look at Anasta's performances over the last few season 2011 and 2012 in particular maybe Smith has it right

It looks like our Recruitment person has been suckered in again

First he recruits Blair on reputation..and now he has been suckered into an ageing player who is coming to play what position ? a player who again was voted the most overrated player…

He also added, he couldn't possibly see what Anasta would bring to the Tigers and that he will pass the ball at every opportuninty just to get rid of it.

Hope he is wrong, but I doubt it.

He's a bloke that rates himself pretty highly but struggles to live up to his expectations, net result- he talks a lot on the field but does very little- dud buy!!!! Too old, too slow & too stupid!!!

Billy

Braith is a good style of a bloke and will be an asset whether he plays 6 or in the backrow. Slow -yeah, Aging-yeah, Not much of a ball runner -yeah, not the world's greatest ball player -yeah … But a good style of bloke with valuable intensity (you know, he looks like winning is important to him)

he's going to look weird in orange but ...

Agreed, can't see him in orange.
That's not the point though, he may add some leadership into the team.
The only good thing I can guarantee is that players will be fighting for spots next year - maybe we will play with a little passion and punch.
