How does Chris Lawrence's future look?

IMO Chris Lawrence is one of the best players in our team. I am not comparing him to Jennings or Lyon because he deserves to be compared me Inglis and Hodges. WHen fit, he can terrorize the opposition. I don't see much difference between Lawrence and Benji because they both have the same style of play and more importantly the same structure of plays. Whenever Benji feels liek doing something brilliant, Chris always supports him and thus creates a try. I think it was 2007 where he scored a hatrick. Top game son!!!

Tigers, please keeep Lawrence, he can be better than INGLIS!!!!!!!!

For some reason Chris Lawrence is my favorite player, speed to burn, brutal tackling, honest and genuine person. He's a champ.

OMG I said so many words b4, but couldn't have put it better than you
Most importatnly: genuine Person….Hope he is a 1 team man and also injury free

He played 2009 on one leg hence was pretty quite in attack but at the same time put most of
Tuiaki's trys on.

Defensively he has stepped up in is one of the best centres in the game.

Injury free 2010 should see him challenge of an origin jesey.

He'll definitely be in Origin next year. I reckon they'll have Hayne at 1 with the Morris boys, Jennings and Lawrence in the back 5 with Gidley at 14.

Back to Lawrence, he's matured so quickly over the last 2 seasons. Going from the 'child prodigy' tag to becoming one of the most consistent, solid AND blockbuster centres in the game. As Defiant said, he probably put Tuiaki in for 75%+ of his tries, not just because he had to pass it to him, but the set up work he does often gets shadowed.

Moving him from the centres would be a suicidal move IMO.

Not quite up there with Inglis & Hodges in attack and never will be in my opinion. He's a different style of player. He's never going to create something with a jink or elusive running. Having said that, he positions his winger just as well, or even better than those two do and he runs better lines. Potentially the best hole running centre in the game. Some of the lines he ran off Benji flat balls were a sight to behold.

I think he may be the best defensive centre in the game now. The only other in contention is Cooper. Cooper may read the attack better than Lawrence, but Lawrence will never ever fall off a tackle and he hits incredibly hard for a centre. The amount of ball and all tackles he made was amazing.

To be honest, I think he's underrated. Commentators on the game talk him up as a potential superstar. In my opinion he's already there. He may not be an elusive runner like Jennings, or a try poacher like Morris, but to be honest I think he easily contributes as much to our team as the aforementioned contribute to theirs.

Lawrence's future looks sky blue… he is built for origin...

His pace is often forgotten IMO by rep selectors because of his defensive load & size but when in the clear can out pace the best in the league...

IMO he needs to be in origin if fit... if the Blues intend on winning next year.

i recently watched the manly monday night game again. lawrences defence on jamie lyon was insane. he smashed him every time in a brilliant one on one ball and all tackle. he came in when he needed to and stayed out when he needed to. i have honestly never seen a players defence improve so much in the space of 12 months.

imo he is the third best center in the game after hodges and inglis. his defence puts him ahead of jennings and morris.

100%,,,just wait till he has a season that he is NOT was playing with injuries, like he did, nearly every game this year…..and PS, he is not going anywhere...Another Mad Tiger through and through.

Long Live the Man Child :wahoo:

You know Lawrence sustained a turf toe injury against the Coast….On top of his hammy, quad and shoulder issues....and injury which requires rest...coming back early or continuing to play only prolonged the recovery....

He played on carved up the Dogs busted.....and put Club before personal reward being ruled out of rep contention....sums it up for me....

Lawrence for Origin 2010.......

i seem to recall him doing just that in a game where he came on for benji early on and scored a near length of the field try on his first touch of the ball..

Very good: Gives quality and quantity runs hard and straight.May need to improve a little in defence.Looking for a big 2010 from him.Could be a state of origin spot….......Poppa

One of his trys against melb in gosford a few years back was very elusive and contained a fiar amount of jinking, iirc

with all these signings..3 years i see lock. no reason why he cant play it..
has the size and strength. speed as a forward and another 80min forward..how good would that be..
but id want to see him in the centres for as long as possible

A good player ..with out knowing the extent of his injuries this past season he went pretty well .It was a tradgedy when injury struck at origin time i thought he was in for sure .He is all over Jennings as a completed package!
