How does Taylor avoid the spoon

People will say I am just being negative as usual. However I think Taylor and the squad have a real battle on their hand to avoid finishing last, and perhaps a long last. We just had 3 of the most winnable games of the seasons

* A woeful newcastle
* A second string Cows at home
* An average Titans at Leichardt coming off a bye

Now consider that we have lost all 3 of these games. Confidence would be pretty low. Now consider the run home. To me it looks like a nightmare run home.

Souths - Away (very probable loss)
Manly - Away (chance but how is record at brookvle - terrible??)
Penrith - Home ( chance but dont like us, leichardt no fortress anymore)
Parra -home (chance for a win)
Broncos - Away (certain loss)
Roosters - Home (certain loss)
Storm - Home (probable loss)
Raiders - Away ( very probable loss)
Knights - Home ( chance for a win)
Sharks - Away ( chance but prob under dogs)
Warriors - Home (probable loss)
Dragons - Away (probable loss)

Ok s people will slam me for predicting minimum 9 losses from our last 12\. I will give us wins against Newcastle and Parramatta. And we will pick up 1 more against either Penrith or the Sharks. The rest to me look very bad. That leaves us with say 7 wins.

The trouble is the squad has thread bare talent in certain positions and next to nothing coming through. All grades are struggling and morale in the joint will be hard to manitain let a lone confidence.

Last night they had a crack and were a bit better. But like Taylor said some of of the stuff we produce just is not first grade standard. We have so many plodders and kids who will be feeling the pinch.

Any serious punters would be seeing real value in us for the spoon. I am sorry, I hope i am wrong but it looks like it could be heading our way this year.

Taylor if he does finish last would then be under huge pressure to maintain his job. Whilst I have not liked some of his rants I would like to see him at least given a chance to re shape a really ordinary squad.

Eddie what you are saying is fact. The only changes I see are Broncos and Souths - definite loss. 3 weeks ago I was telling everyone on here we may make the 8\. I'm an idiot.

I said 13th at the start of the year. Right now I think deep down Taylor would bite your hand off for that.

How does Taylor avoid the spoon? Change the game plan to suit the squad he has . Not the squad he wishes he had.
Is that enough ? Maybe but after losing all of the last 3 probably not. But it's our only hope in my opinion.

Game plan might be part of the problem. However a lack of talent is perhaps a biggr problem.

Last year we were 13th and we lost Austin, Thompson, Blair, Gavet and Fulton. And we signed no one.

I did not see the logic in people saying we would be big improvers.

Raiders 44 Knights 22

As I said in another thread, the knights have lost 9 of their last 10,their only win is against us,pretty clear picture of where we are at.

Come Monday I think most betting agencies will have us as Spoon favourites. Centrebet and other William Hill affiliated agencies are currently offering 251/1 for Tigers to win the comp if you are keen. We are the only team they are offering that about. On the row below us are Titans and Eels are $126.

It's too late, the damage has been done. Taylor decided to steer his course and now he, the players and fans must go down with it when it sinks.

Look I have not been a huge fan of Taylor. Particularly his angry ant demeanour when anyone dares question him and his one out tactics. However Craig Bellemy, Trent Robinson or Wayne Bennett could not get this squad in the Top 8 in my opinion.

Taylor seems to have sucked the life and the confidence out of them no doubt. However the fact remains is the squad he has is one of the worst in the NRL and was way over rated by lazy media.

No doubt he will tell us it was the wooden spoon we had to win.

Much like the recession we had to have.

I just watched the post-match interview and he is desperate. I don't think he believes anything he's saying. I know I sure as hell don't! I just think he is way out of his depth. I don't think he has the emotional intelligence to be a NRL coach. He looks for any small piece of evidence to support his strategy as a coach but seems to have no answers for how, for the most part of a game, we're not competitive as a result of that same strategy. It's diabolical that this fool can be taking a salary as an NRL head coach. Please give me some hope…..sack him immediately.

We won't get the spoon as we will win a few games towards the end of the season. Last night we saw the attack that is possible once the defence needs to be sorted.

We did need that recession. Too much excess and poor lending standards following the deregulation of the financial system.

Thanks Gary, i knew someone would come out to justify the recession we had to have. Happened quicker than i thought though.

Politics, the only thing more frustrating to argue than football.

LCA I think you need to put a little bit more energy into telling us what you really think

I think football and politics are in unison. Jason Taylor is the same as Joe Hockey. He has NFI. He has exactly the same temerity to tell us that what we all see and know to be reality is actually the opposite! Both are off with the pixies.

Pretty good question actually. At the start of the season I figured we'd end up around 9th or 10th. Now, we will be doing well to stay above 15th.

I'm going to try something out there , just for kicks

Winning game works , and we will do that before the end of the season

Probably not enough for everyone on here , but enough to show we are on the right track
