How does Taylor avoid the spoon

Taylor has that 'rabbit in the spotlight' look about him the last few weeks, knows in his heart things aren't working, not sure where we go from here but we need to jag some wins(stating the bleeding obvious) to avoid a completely wasted season.
His comments on BSB last week that he is concentrating on defence and we did OK against the Cows as they only scored one try was laughable for a head coach.

Well yes it is.

Forum experts are blaming our forwards, who at times do get smashed, but dang its so easy to get numbers in on our blokes.

You can hear it at the ground, opposition players yelling out " smash him,one out!".

I put the blame soley on our pisspoor tactics for our terrible field position!

Aftet the Cowboys game i thought id watch this one from the lounge and concentrate on this point.

Youre right, we are getting smashed. Opposition knows we are one out for four tackles, they are compressing their defense and just lining up to give it to us.

Its a tactic that is never going to work.

The real problem we have now is confidence is low, our kicking game is the worst in the comp by a country mile and our play makers are held on a leash. If Taylor really had thought this through he needed to adapt week to week and not just concentrate on one style of play. He needed to coach what was in front of him not coach a future vision. You can still make improvements without taking away the natural talent you have at your disposal. When we played the Bulldogs, both Brooks and Moses were confident in their abilities and played outside of Taylor's structure. If only Taylor could have seen this.
How we get out of this may well be beyond this guys capabilities.

Exactly. Its about getting the most out of the squad at your disposal.

I do think that we have the slowest outside backs in the comp and when we have Nofo and Simona out we don't have any quality outside backs to replace them so we are going to get caned.

I don't blame Taylor completely for where we are. I blame Taylor for the brain dead game plans that he has utilised for most of the season. Its not winning football and its not getting the most out of our players.

That is all we are asking.

Anything more comes down to how Taylor responds to this challenge.

The season is in tatters and any thought of finals footy will have to wait till 2016…no coach wants this milestone on his resume the wooden spoon .The club or any of the coaches have not sunk to this level , the next 13 rounds will prove if Taylor deserves to be the coach in 2016 ,how he does this is anyone's guess. He has shown nothing that would suggest he has the answer ..the answer for me will be the individual talent that many in the team possess,it was not the great coaching by Taylor that won the game against Parra but Richards and Teddy alone . I hope this does not eventuate as I would find it amost impossible to support a coach that has lead our club to this unthinkable LOW.

JT looked pretty rattled in the press conference.

He was trying to say we are on the right track, but it looked like even he didn't believe that.

I think he knows dee down the performances and the path they are on at the moment is the one to the wooden spoon.

Lol you're getting desperate. This arrogant response is not on mark nor is it necessary.
I don't know what makes you think Taylor is the Messiah who who will fix this club but he is proving not to be more and more as the season progresses.

The players don't appear to be enjoying themselves when they are playing. The fun seems to have gone out of it. Let's go back to throwing the ball around and having some fun and try and build a plan for next year. Doesn't matter if we run last or second last …. It's all about planning for the next thee to five years. I think that's what being on track really is.

In my opinion we have a very weak squad.

I don't think even Bennett or Bellamby could have done much with the squad.

Only Teddy, Simona, Taupau, Woods and Farah could make it into any of the current top NRL teams.

As many have pointed out the rest of plodders.

Can't believe we let Thompson, Blair and Austin and replace them with no major signing.

Maybe the wooden spoon will be a good wake up call.

I picked at start of season for Cowboys to win the comp and WT to finsh 13\. It seems with WT I was 3 spots out.

Whatever it takes please purchase 1 quality centre, 2 damaging second rowers and an impact prop.

The current game plan reminds me of the old Gallipoli movie when the whistle blows and the guys have to get up and run out of the trenches with bayonets only only to be shot down like slow moving ducks in a shooting gallery. Stupid plan then, stupid plan now. He won't avoid the spoon. We're gonski for this year, and I think sadly for next as well so long as we continue down this same path. Our "big guns" won't fire and our defence will still be rubbish. Only difference will be the year.

Hey Stryker , happy's lost his marbles , before the season kicked off he was all doom and gloom .
And now he believes what's is happening is in the clubs best interest lol .

West Ham maybe had something to do with the doom and gloom at the time , now that the EPL Season is over his trying to catch up to our optimism we had before the Season kicked off , Queenslanders are behind in time  :roll

People will say I am just being negative as usual. However I think Taylor and the squad have a real battle on their hand to avoid finishing last, and perhaps a long last. We just had 3 of the most winnable games of the seasons

* A woeful newcastle
* A second string Cows at home
* An average Titans at Leichardt coming off a bye

Now consider that we have lost all 3 of these games. Confidence would be pretty low. Now consider the run home. To me it looks like a nightmare run home.

Souths - Away (very probable loss)
Manly - Away (chance but how is record at brookvle - terrible??)
Penrith - Home ( chance but dont like us, leichardt no fortress anymore)
Parra -home (chance for a win)
Broncos - Away (certain loss)
Roosters - Home (certain loss)
Storm - Home (probable loss)
Raiders - Away ( very probable loss)
Knights - Home ( chance for a win)
Sharks - Away ( chance but prob under dogs)
Warriors - Home (probable loss)
Dragons - Away (probable loss)

Ok s people will slam me for predicting minimum 9 losses from our last 12\. I will give us wins against Newcastle and Parramatta. And we will pick up 1 more against either Penrith or the Sharks. The rest to me look very bad. That leaves us with say 7 wins.

The trouble is the squad has thread bare talent in certain positions and next to nothing coming through. All grades are struggling and morale in the joint will be hard to manitain let a lone confidence.

Last night they had a crack and were a bit better. But like Taylor said some of of the stuff we produce just is not first grade standard. We have so many plodders and kids who will be feeling the pinch.

Any serious punters would be seeing real value in us for the spoon. I am sorry, I hope i am wrong but it looks like it could be heading our way this year.

Taylor if he does finish last would then be under huge pressure to maintain his job. Whilst I have not liked some of his rants I would like to see him at least given a chance to re shape a really ordinary squad.

I was looking at this last week and thought that Parra was the only real chance of a win, but maybe panthers if they don't get their injured players, it ain't looking good.
But in this comp things can change quickly, teams may lose a few players through injuries, suspensions, our lot may all get on the same page for a game or two, we might even find two halves who can lead a team around the field .

Anyone else see Blake Austin's dynamic performance today.

Yes , he
Hes starting to get extremely good at backing up breaks, and being in the right place at the right time. .
It'll be interesting to see how The Raiders go from here they're a good team to watch.

I'm going to try something out there , just for kicks

Winning game works , and we will do that before the end of the season

Probably not enough for everyone on here , but enough to show we are on the right track

Are you still celebrating the Origin win Happy, that could explain a few things
