HOW LONG BEFORE?

The Tigers may be investing in their youth but they are definatately still in discussions with a contracted player that has been mentioned before. I believe the this no signings is a strategic move either to keep out of the press or to bring their prices down. There may be a signing or their may not but coming from the manager they definitely are in negotiations. I think well played tigers. the current administration at the tigers are really impressing me

iofthetiger, hopefully the player negotiations go well,I totally agree that the current admin are doing a fine job, this has been lacking for quite a long time..
The word stability comes to mind, could we be heading in the right direction at last ?.

CQ , i see what your saying , but as LarryCorowa says what else can we do ? T
There is obviously Salary Cap issues that is stopping us from getting any proven Marquee signing and all we can do is rely on these young guys proving to us they have the goods .
We have released some juniors that haven't worked out Matt Groat , Jacob Miller , Korribette (some will say he should of not been released) ,i think Luani , Nathan Brown , Kurtis Rowe and Buchanan who was a Dragon junior will be the next few to be cut when there deals are done i believe , the young players that we are putting our faith on just need a Season or 2 playing together injury free to build a Team structure . IMO
If not you can forget the Juniors and do what Roosters do and buy yourself to a Premiership  , we are to honest of a Club to do that .

I seriously doubt that JT and co are planning to be pummeled for two to three YEARS haha

they've probably said to themselves they're okay with finishing 9-12 but are still aiming for a top 8 berth (which is quite possible without injuries) and in 2016 they will definitely be making a massive push.

you, and most people on this forum are being extremely melodramatic. the NRL is absolutely unpredictable. Sharks went from 5th to last in a year, we went from 4th to 10th, eels went from a grand final to 2nd last in 2 years, roosters went from bottom four to consecutive minor premierships in 1 year. Who's to say we can't go from 13th to top 4 in 2 years??? it gets done all. the. time. We just need a bit of luck with injuries, strong management from up top and things to 'click' for a couple of months at the end of the season.

I don't think any coach anywhere coming in to a club their first season would say they're okay with finishing 9th to 12th

Happy, everyone on here and now Taylor are placing an awful lot of faith in ALL our juniors turning out to be superstars.

Other important people agree, hence the big upgrades that are causing salary cap headaches.

My fear is that all or most of them don't reach those lofty expectations.

Tedesco has the ability but is injury prone. If he loses his speed because of injury he will be nothing special.

Brooks has not shown a consistent quality halfback game yet. It is well known that Potter was bringing him along slowly with Anasta beside him. He concentrated mainly on one side of the ruck.

Curtis Sironen is big enough but I can't recall any one game where he was a standout forward.

The same can be said of Simona and Nofaloma. They have scored some great tries but don't get any MOM performances.

Moses has shown glimpses of brilliance.

My point is with all these guys we are putting a LOT of our faith and salary cap into them but we have our fingers crossed doing it.

Every one of those guys put in a team of solid experienced first graders with some top liners will turn out to be great players. But all of them in the one team together with skinny talent around them?

I'm just not sure. I am hoping like hell though.

I share the same concerns.
It seems it will come down to momentum, in terms of how well our forward pack can get a roll on, and make space for our playmakers to do their thing, while protecting them from getting belted.
Even in our better years this hasn't happened.
When we find ourselves on the back foot the team ends up tackling 80 mins every week and players burn out too soon over time.
I think this is a realistic concern, not being a negative Nancy.
But in the end it's fingers crossed the junior forwards can stand up until finances are sorted.

If we were in totally the opposite position, if we were abandoning juniors and re-signing the Blairs, Thompsons, Austins, would people be happier?

They've made a decision to keep cutting the dead and dying wood at the club. They have identified key juniors and are banking on them coming good.

Will it work? Don't know, if I knew that I'd keep my mouth shut and put a few thousand on the Tigers.

But as some other people have said, let it play out. We have hired a new crop of professionals to figure all this out. There has been an overhaul from top to bottom, only the CEO is still standing.

What else will satisfy people? You want a new regime, lots of new signings, lots of junior re-signings? That is a fantasy, we are not a rich club.
