How loyal are you to Tigers? Hypothetical

You'd hope for Tigers and the other team to play each other in the GF.

I'd say I'd support my kid over Tigers though. But if it was a friend or distant relative then nah.. Tigers all the way.

While I'd certainly support the individual relative, I don't think I could ever support another club - certainly not with the heart and soul I've invested into the Tigers.
Never say never though - my sister moved to the Nthn Beaches and made the move from fibros to silvertails.
Couldn't believe it!

I'll be kind given their current situation, but it means your sister was always a closet silvertail. People can't help it... they are born that way.

Glebe boy, schooled in Balmain, Tigers fan ,then West tigers fan.Happy to see the merger of two great clubs, and had many friends who followed the Magpies.

Ha! Maybe, she was a big fan of a few of ours that went there, most notably Stephen Knight...
But I guess living near Brooky, having a son grow up there playing and supporting Manly, guess it can do things to you?
I'll never know but it opened my eyes!

Your son should be aiming to play for the Wests Tigers... or is he really your son?! Hahah, I’d be spewing if he got offered to play for us and another team, but he chose the other team!

I got a new position for the Federal Government and will need to relocate to Canberra so thinking if i should casually support them when i get there.

Support the Tigers during the regular season and also tend to Tip them in games that most likely will lose in the Tipping Comp, but reserve my betting on the nags rather than NRL.

In relation to other Tips support whom i have tipped, might watch a game close game but tend now to only watch the Tigers play and the game of the round.

When it gets close to finals naturally i tip against the teams the Tigers are in competition for a finals berth, although that has not transpired for awhile, always next year we say....

When the finals are on i usually barrack for a team that deserves to Win the title but usually don't support teams like Roosters or Eels. As a Qlder usually swap to a Qld team if playing finals, however last year were none so went the Storm.

Family first and I would happily wear a different jersey etc a a game to support him, even against WT. But support HIM, not the team. Id be hoping WT win 40-39, where he scores 5 tries, all the goals, and they fall just short. Ah well son....

One exception. I will never, ever, ever wear a Queensland jersey. I have mates that have tried to bet me many times and if I lose, I wear the maroon. I always decline, because even if there was a one in a million chance, I couldn't pay up. It will NEVER happen. I would rather go to jail and touch my toes all day and night than wear that filth.

I’ve only followed 2 teams Balmain and Wests Tigers, will never follow any other team no matter what if they kicked us out I’d follow ping pong.

If any of my relatives including my sons played for another team they are out of the family.

Tigers all day ...
You’d support your kid but why would you support the scum he’s playing for ?
Simple ..

If my son signed for the tigers I'd be disappointed. I want him to be successful and happy.
Seriously, i'd go and watch his games but still be a tigers fan.

Well I think I have posted on this before ...if not I'll post it again

My family are Brisbane Wests supporters , unfortunately Wests don't exist as they went belly up in the late 90's in the BRL / Qld cup

My youngest uncle went to school at Brisbane SHS but by the time he went BSHS blokes usually played for Easts as it is the closest club to the school and many of his mates where there ...previously he was a Wests Kenmore junior

Wests and Easts don't necessarily like each other at the best of times ....

Well the youngest uncle decided he would go and play for Easts when he was about 13 ...and he copped it from his 5 older brothers and even his older sister

My dad and his brothers would quite regularly play footy in the back yard and although they weren't tall they were brick outhouses .....the youngest brother refused to play as he knew what would be coming and they baited him ...told him to come out from behind's Mummy 's dress

And didn't they all give it to him later that year when Wests beat Easts 16-1 in the GF

Well it probably worked out OK for the youngest Uncle he went on to play for Combined Brisbane at Colts level and looked he would make it to grade until his career at Ansett took over ...he spent many years as the Airport Manager for Ansett in Sydney and then back in Brisbane where he met his wife ...who was related to one of Easts favourite sons Wayne Lindenberg

So to answer your question ...it's Wests or it ain't worth it

It's easy, just have another kid and do a better job at raising them right.

He means you Geo...

Exactly right

My old man said you play for Ipswich but you still have Wests in your heart ...12 months later and I was a mud and blood (West Panther ) and playing my 1st trial in grade at Purtell Park (West home ground )

Getting back to your situation Geo ...seeing you see yourself as Jedi Mind Master ...couldn't you switch Darth Vader back to the light

I know one of the Directors of the Bombers bid.

We have a deal that if they make it into the comp I’ll be a member and cut up my signed Balmain jersey from the 89 grand final he quit being a thoroughbred. Deal made a year before there first attempt into the comp.

Some things are worth living in shame for...
So you break a deal... So what?!
Deals come and go and life goes on one way or the other...
But could you ever regain that piece of history?
If this person had any sense of loyalty to a team, you'd be the exact type of supporter they want.
P.S. Was the offer, on his behalf, of the same magnitude as what you were willing to offer up? Like, what's he physically destroying that he has an emotional connection to that is possibly irreplaceable?
If nothing, then it's a lopsided deal anyway... You "evil Twal grin", and flow like water my friend.
