How much are we missing Liam Fulton this year ??

We are all annoyed about our back rower issues in 2015

But we all forget we had a good back rower for 2015 and beyond until fate ended his career

I just wonder how much difference Liam would of made to our squad this season ??

Missing Fulton heaps…imagine him and Lawrence together in the backrow....

We are missing Fulton a lot as we did for most of last year. I think what makes it worse is that we lost
Fulton
Blair
Thompson

So in effect our starting backrow from last year were all gone and we replaced them internally.

Its not just about your starting backrow either with Taupau, Siro and Lawrence providing a strong starting 3 but needing to back those up both on the bench and with injuries means we are 1 or 2 backrowers short.

Last year we also had Gavet, Patterson, Anasta all play some back row giving us more experience back up

He killed two birds with one stone

He could run a great line and make 40+ tackles at a 93%+ tackle completion rate

Exactly what we needed , and we could of gradually weaned Lovett into the squad

Lovett will learn heaps from this season , but I hope we aren't wrecking him mentally

We didn't get a great deal out of Fulton last year, only 6 games and he was knocked out in 2-3\. Great servant of the club though and terrific work ethic.
In playing terms I think the loss of Bodene Thompson has been felt more this year. He's been playing very strongly for the warriors. Its a real shame he wanted to move back to NZ as he would be a walk up starter in our back row.

Surely not. I cant see how he would be included in the cap when he retired. I guess at this stage you cant put anything past this club.

At the end of the day though if fults was still running around we probably would have had to release him anyway.

Yes and no.

His defence is missed but to be fair his go forward was never any good. We miss Blair, Thompson and Anasta more.

How much have we missed Gareth Ellis is more to the point.

Let go early, I have often wondered how things may have turned out with him in our squad these last few years. He's still playing.

Our player if the year for 3 years straight.

I miss him the most. Ah well' that's yesterday's news. Same for Fulton.

He barely played last year to be fair.
Plus we probably would have had to release him before the season to be cap compliant.
