How much $$$$ is the Tedesco deal?

Thought I read that TPAs were max $600k above the salary cap.
Makes you wonder how the rest of the chooks team get by if they spend the majority of it on Tedesco!

Non Club Affiliated TPA are un capped with no limit on a players intellectual property..the can not however be guaranteed by a Club and must be approved by the NRL..

Club affiliated TPA's are guaranteed by the Club and is currently capped at 600K above the Cap and can be used for 1 player or a number of players under the Marquee Player allowance…

Thanks Geo, I knew you would come good with the right info.
The depth of your knowledge continues to amaze me! 😱pen_mouth:

Roosters are a joke when it comes to the cap

The quicker that club crashes and burns the better, they are a blight on the game

I have a mate at work who's brother in law high up in the roosters club, and he said tedesco' deal is between 1.3-1.4 million a year

No BS

Was quietly hoping that the richest Australian would contribute somewhere to keep at least Tedesco. Was hoping that he wanted to help Tigers win one more GF in the next couple of years. Let's face it lots of $ and not much time!

The NRL have blocked Harry T as a third party participant because he used to be a club sponsor .. they know dam well if he decided to go crazy he would blow the TPA masters like Dogs, Roosters out of the park … they cant upset the NRL power brokers now can they :frowning:

Moneys only allowed to be used at certain clubs.

How can you be blocked because "you used to be" a sponsor? Doesn't make sense…. you either are or your not in my books....

I'm sure there are a lot of contractors the work for Meriton that could put up some TPA's with a bit a pressure was applied.

Because it was deemed its not at arms length from the club , tell me how Politis's bussiness asociates are at arms length
Mate its just another NRL rort to protect their power mates , Harry T money makes scummy Nick look like he does a paper round. Harry T worth 8.9 billion compared to Politis 182million.

I always get a laugh when people mention 'intellectual property' and 'players' in the same sentence - especially when referring to Woods and Tedesco!

Is this legit? can anyone else confirm?

It's massive if true, bigger than anything else for the club if our major benefactor is blocked.

I agree w Blaze it should be fine to TPA if you aren't a sponsor, because you don't get any revenue boost from being officially associated w the club. I'd imagine 90% of TPAs come from within arms-length of the club - former sponsors, associates of club officials, key memberships.

Jirksyr - I don't believe that it is true but I can't confirm that. I think the Tigers would be able to push back on that if the NRL were really doing that. I also think the NRL would be hard pressed to have different rules for the Tigers and the Roosters.

The interesting point will be how the salary cap is managed from the NRL in relation to the Roosters. They have a lot of players that would be on good money. Surely they will have to offload players. I thought that there was a maximum of $600k TPA allowed outside of the cap. That would go pretty easily.

I am trying to find confirmation for everyone. Ill post up as soon as i have found something. I have read it online previously but im having trouble finding any info alm.
