In case any of you would like to know some of our Junior players are coming over to oz in a few weeks to play against some quality Australian teams including Balmain Tigers.

North Coast Select July 14th 2010 Forster / Tuncurry
Balmain Tigers July 17th 2010 Leichhardt Oval
Manly Sea-Eagles July 21st 2010 Brookvale Oval

^^ these are the dates of when they will be over there. It is a first for our club and i though i would let you know incase some of you would like to see them play and possibly see some stars of the future. I sure enjoyed watching the Wests academy play over here a few years back, no doubt it will be the same for you.

What no rematch against Wests ?..lol..What age group are the boys… 16 - 17 year olds ?

I was over there for the Western Suburbs tour a couple of years ago...Sounds good...Manly will be tough but you should beat Balmain...easilyyy.

Black & White Balmain wil give the Poms a good hit out, we lost a couple of our best players both forwards before the Matts started and while we have lost our halfback to a broken leg have got a good tough side. Those forwards are back its a shame we didn't get a chance to smash Wests this year.

Mr Blackandwhite (or is it Mrs? perhaps its Mrs) you seem a little bitter!

Balmain will give the Poms a real run for their money, perhaps you should come along and watch the Balmain Boys go and support the other half of the JV. The Balmain forwards are strong, the halves and backs will be ready to go and will be firing. All positions covered and accounted for. GO THE MIGHTY BALMAIN TIGERS!!!!!!

Not bitter just friendly rivalry… Always good games Balmain v Wests....it will be on again next year at Campbelltown.

Bad luck for Luke Brooks..but nice to see Wests Tigers still include him in their 2010 Cubs Program and tour to NZ even thou he is injured.

Young Sironen who was overlooked for NSWCCC (he trialed as a backrower) ..was a standout recently playing for Wests Tigers(at 5/8) v NSWCCC.

Then there is Lovett..Viahos...Mahe...Mouawad.(only ones I know)...........What are you talking about...of course I'll be there..... I Love Balmain.

I agree friendly rivelry is always a good thing and, we too love the Magpies.

Good old Lidcombe Oval my home for so long, how I long for those days sliding down the hill on cardboard and getting into the ground under the wire fence for free, sitting on the bike track ….... memories.

See you all at Leichhardt

Huddgiant do your 16's play in any rep comps over in the England or is this just a side put together for the tour. How many teams are these kids picked from. We only have 3 teams in Balmain this year and combine with St. George who have 4 teams, needless to say we give it to the Dragons. Looking fwd to a good clash with you guys.

Flash- as far as i am aware they are the under 16s and they will play against other teams e.g Bradford, Leeds etc. every now and again then play for their local teams more often. So they wont be a push over especialy as our youth system has had plenty of money pumped into it recently and we are seeing the benefits of it now. Should be a good few games on show.

Black and White FYI Balmain 40 Huddersfield 12.
Huddersfield website states that we had 18 yr olds playing they got that wrong all were Harold Matts players with 3 15 yr olds and 2 16 yr olds called in form the Junior League to replace the 6 Matts players we had out!!

How do you rate nick bell flash?
he's one of those younger players playing up a grade…i think he's very promising.

He is a good solid forward and has been since I first seen him play as a 12 yr old playing up in the 13's for school as a front rower because we had no forwards. There are some very good players in that age group in the Balmain Comp and Nick is right up there with them, he should have been selected in the Matts squad this year in my opinion.

Well Well Blackandwhite, 40-12 what a win by the Balmain Tigers (the strong half of the JV)

The mighy Tigers were far far too good for the Poms. Talking up Wests is like flogging a dead horse :deadhorse:

Granted, Wests did give Balmain the rounds of the kitchen table in that game but, there were mitigating circumstances that are really not worth going into, suffice to say we have a couple of pullouts a day or so before that would have assisted us however, you were too good on the day.

Balmain continue to lead the NSW Cup though, with many local juniors in the squad, which is a testiment to the juniors at the Tigers. Anyway Balmain and Wests junior continue to provide great talent for the Weststigers which at the end of the day is what its all about Mr innsaneink, i am sure you will agree  :supporter:

i took some photos for both clubs and there are 82 of them at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=187717&id=650882022&l=f22e2d33e2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
