Humphreys and Skando disappointed with Campbelltown's crowd

We need to get the ex Balmain people to go to Campbelltown and vice versa.
I am from the Balmain side of things and grew up near Leichhardt oval (Hubert street…you might know it).
I now have kids who follow the WestsTigers and don't know who 'Balmain" or "Western Suburbs" were and don't want to know.
I moved out of the area 30 odd years ago and still to this day go to all the LO games, and SFS games.
This year for the first time I ventured out to Campbelltown with a rooster mate to watch the trial game. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was comfortable and good viewing. And it has a railway station adjacent which is a huge advantage and i couldn't believe how easy it was to get to.
I didn't go to the Monday night game at Campbelltown cause of work and didn't go last Sunday as my son was ill so we all watched it on CH 9 not knowing the score. (how bad is that by the way with the commercials, how painful!). I do intend to go to future games there.
I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands of ex Balmain fans, who are like me and i ask these fans to give Campbelltown a go. Its one of our home grounds!

Was involved in balmain junior league for over 10 years thru my son…..I know many many people just like you - WTs supporters but never have been to cambo, many dont even go to SFS...
Same with work, work in the Ryde area,,,same deal.

Could be the same the other way around, I dunno....have little to do with cambo bar WTs

Gotta say the crowd was a dissapointment. Lots of empty members seats arround me and on the hills at iether end. Maybe it was the nightmarish memory of the last ctown game against candberra or maybe everyone had something else on. I dont know. I think they will never take games away from ctown as there are an awfull lot of members from the area as evident by the no of reserved members seats.

It comes with the territory of being an NRL team that you can't pick your start times, but I wonder if the crowd would have bigger if it was the 2pm match.

I would hazard to guess that pay tv subscription in the Macarthur area would be below the average of the metropolitan area.

Gary are you stereotyping the good folk of c'town? Most of us can afford foxtel, Winnie blues and vb thanks to Julia and her handouts. We unfortunately just can't afford that little bit extra for the porn channels like you peninsular types.

Well….I reckon you can say goodbye to more games at our spiritual homes if we cant get more than we have lately.

The 16k at Leichhardt was okish, but still down on what I expected.

13k at Cambo is extremely poor, especially when we are constantly hearing about how more games should be played there.

I knew I would get a response like this from you Ed. I was guessing because I do remember seeing stats by Roy stating subscriptions were lower in the western suburbs. I would never doubt our former mentor, would you?

Now please excuse me, I have another important program to watch on my upgraded Foxtel subscription….

Am I the only one whose sees this as the biggest over reaction in history.

We got a reasonable crowd, without being great. For a number of reasons.

Even the title of the article is misleading, it wasn't like Humpries was complaining about how disappointing the crowd is.

People are reading to much into the whole thing

Blocker was bagging out the attendance numbers on 2GB after the game..

Does anyone listen to anything Blocker says now?

Much ado about nothing - 16,000 at Leichhardt one week, 13,000 at Campbelltown during an Origin week - so what? Start worrying when the crowd difference is over 5K and they're playing in similar circumstances.

It's funny, I listen to 2GB all the time and I never hear Blocker. Whenever they throw to him it is complete silence, although at the same time, my dog will roll over, play dead, round up sheep and do heaps of other cool tricks.

Blocker is very anti-Wests

Yes he is. You will notice he very rarely says the words 'wests tigers' he omits the wests everytime. He (just like wests diehards) is a balmain diehard.

That doesn't bother me. I just remember him on NRL on Fox one night, they were talking about Tigers fans, he said he only cares about the ones around Rozelle and Lillyfield, not the ones in the South-West. Another reason to add to the long list of all the reasons why i hate his fat guts

GNR, with the way he sticks to Bozo and carried on about a Leichhardt product in Robbie Farah playing origin, I doubt he gives a rats arse about any of us mate. I was a dyed in the wool Balmain supporter, and anything this bloke says carries very little water with me now.

Its a shame to see whats happened with Blocker. Has he always been like that, or has hanging around with Bozo and Hadley made him into this?

Cronulla played the Gold Coast today at 2pm at Cronulla. Crowd of just over 8,000\. Sure it rained earlier, but it ceased at midday.

Imagine if Humphreys and Skando were in charge of Cronulla - they would be distraught!
