Humphreys and Skando disappointed with Campbelltown's crowd

Someone yelled out ‘‘How can you expect more home games when you don’t show up’’???

Seems a bit odd to me!

I agree with Gnr's last 2 posts.
I said at the very beginning that I thought the disapointment in the crowd was overstated, even the headline exaggerated Humpries comments, it was a reasonable crowd in line with what you'd expect, as usual a couple more would be nice.

We may or may not get more at Leichharrdt, if we do, great, if not what does that matter, we should continue to play the games as we are, 4 at each of the suburban home grounds, and 4 at the commercially attractive SFS.

There will be ebbs and flows with crowds from year to year with averages depending on when and who play at each ground and how we are travelling at the time.

As I've said previously, we would all like to see good crowds at all our home grounds, but unfortunately there are the select few on this forum that continually like to have their sly remarks regarding CSS or Campbelltown itself.
If its not crowd figures, its lack of atmosphere at the game or lower winning percentage or even the fear of having your car stolen during the game.
Rarely do you see the pot shots going the other way.
You wouldn't think we all follow the same team.

Too many parking officers too! Those mongrels were always there on game days and never in my street when I couldn't get a park because the function centre patrons were hogging the spots… :angry:

The pies were cold at campbelltown not impressed with that any wonder the crowd was down word got out! Nothing worse than a cold pie especially when you have been looking foraward to it all week and I bought 3.

When looking at crowds since inception, Campbelltown's rolling average since inception was higher than Leichhardt for the first 4 seasons of the merger. 2004 saw Leichhardt's rolling average since inception over take Campbelltown. Coincidentally, that is when Wests Tigers started to perform on the field….

The current average since inception for both grounds is 13,657 (L) and 13,056 (C).

Thanks for those figures Gary…... But unfortunately we'll be back here in a couple of weeks trying to prove the same point to the same people.
They'll never let it go.

Thanks for the figures gary but it does confirm we have bigger crowds.Even though i would look at your figures again though it don't seem that close.
See you in 2weeks b&w .The message on the topic is clear get bigger crowds and you may get more games.I live closer to c-town so it wouldn't bother me either way as long as we played some games at leichhardt.

And who cares if it does? only people who get a kick out of some kind of bragging rights over the other. Its meaningless, the main thing is that day we won and made it 5 in a row, but you wouldn't think it going by this thread. Arguing about which ground gets better results and better crowds is like kids fighting over who has a better action figure.

Balmain left LO at the end of 1994 because the ground was outdated for first grade rugby league. Its held purely for tradition and thats what brings the crowds. Campbelltown has a family demographic with a huge rugby league population behind it. Its up to WT to embrace it.
