Humphreys

You are probably right snake, Humphreys was probably giving saints a bit back after their poor timing earlier in the season re the announcement. On the other hand, Benji was interviewed on 7 news tonight and I'm sure he said the players would be disappointed if the club let Moltz go, so there may be another twist yet.

I will get flamed deluxe on this, but I think Humphreys is doing a good job. Clearly, he has bought sponsors and important people to the club behind the scenes because he has the right connections.

As for the Moltzen saga, I trust he knows what the club needs to do. Some people seem to listen to bits of the Telegraph, a bit from the SMH, a bit from Foxsports and then some stuff on here and conclude they know everything about what is going on.

Truth is not one of us on here knows what is happening behind the scenes and why. I have certainly not heard it from Moltzens lips that he wants to stay, so it may have always been the case that he was prepared to go. Maybe he does want to stay, he has been deafening with his silence on the whole thing. Just because some meat head wrote in the paper that he wants to stay means jack to me.

In the last few years, we are on the improve so someone in the front office is doing things right. The overall position of the club is better, and the consistency is starting to eventuate.

I agree, well put.

Some have an axe to grind and I think often the criticism is very unfair.

I also think Humphreys is doing a good job.
Fans don't have the right to back seat drive the Club's decisions about player contracts unless all the facts are known - and they are not and nor should they be publicly known.

You don't think the Coach has some input on these decisions?

If the worst thing Humphries has done is show the door to some average players, he is doing a good job.

No doubt the situation could and should have been handled better but Humphries is no mug.

I see both sides of the argument HT but was is more important to the fans
1 The Tigers posting profits
2 The Tigers integrity
3 Or where the Tigers finish on the table

Because after this whole schmozzle of an effort has gone down I think our integrity has taken a beating
We either should of gone totally through with what we said or just left it alone

3 and 1 for me. I don't care about anything else.

The club under Humphries is turning a profit and is extremely competitive. That's all that matters to me.

Once the season starts this whole thing will be forgotten about an we all move on.

The CEO acts on behalf of the board of directors. Its not as though Humphries is directly accountable for making every single decision within the club. He just takes the fall for it by the way he has conducted the situation in the media. Keep in mind what actually happens and what the telecrap says happened are two completely different things.

That's it Hybrid. IMO the mess with Moltzen could have been handled better, he's not afraid to make decisions in the best interests of the club. We're attracting good talent which is something I could only have dreamed of ten years ago. 2000-2002 seems so long ago now by comparison.

I'd have Humphreys any day of the week over any previous CEO.

Humphreys can't be blamed for looking after the clubs best interests, as others have written we don't know what discussions happen behind the scenes, what decisions are made and how those decisions will be implemented. The other difficulty for the mouthpiece (CEO) is that he doesn't operate autonomously which can complicate the way decisions are played out and presented to the public. The information released to the media can come from many sources not just the CEO.

Completely agree the JV financial position has never been healthier and the playing roster gives us a healthy shot at the premiership

We either should of gone totally through with what we said or just left it alone

If the tigers make a good profit (1) creates an opportunity to for us ring in higher classed players and invest good dollars in our development which should create the opportunity for the tigers to finish higher up on the table (3) which will bring biggger sponsers, crowds, memberships which all helps create integrity (2)…..I think we were the only team over the last two seasons to finish in the 4 top

Wasn't it jack gibson who said something along the lines a competition is won by starting in the board room or something?? if im wrong pelase correct me.

humpty is doing a good job, do you blame him doing aturnaround on moltzen? Next year we are going to be kicking our selves if lui is sacked (thats not humpty's fault) and moltzen aint there...that could possibly be 50% of our spine gone. Not good. but overall has done pretty well over the last couple of years, it takes guts to come out to us tigers supporters and try to rebuild by gettting rid of a cult tiger, an average but good player in gibbs, fifita and attempting to replace him in mongrel who is a freak of a player in blair. Humpty has created the worlds best 2nd row in my opinion.

Humphreys seems to be doing a good job and as supporters theres lots that goes on behind the scenes that we dont know about. The club making profits and obviously if we finish high up on the table that helps.

Agree with hybrid

I don't understand how the Dragons can be in a position to demand compensation when, from a legal stand point we've done nothing wrong

We are not a party to the contract, so yes, we have not done anything wrong.

However, the argument would be that Moltzen should not have signed without an official release from Wests. Therefore, he is liable for any compensation demanded from the Dragons. Obviously Moltzen would want Wests to pay on his behalf.

Humphreys is a dead set goose.

He's so quick to change his mind at the drop of the hat I can only think of the famous Jack Gibson quote

That guy is so quick, he can switch off the light and get into bed before the room is dark
