Hunt done for Cocaine dealing...Titans Charged

Can't believe how much rugby league has suffered the last few years. Drugs, sexual assault, asada, Carney fountain, fergie, domestic violence, match fixing,…...,FFS what's going on. Who's going to stop this. Not Smith. Who wants to put their kid in League now. All the while the A league keeps building. It's bigger than it's ever been. Is it Gallop? Was he that good ?????

Don't worry Crusader, soccer will end up getting so big over here and we'll end up with scandals, riots and idiot hooligan supporters running rampant like the Chelsea ones in France, then the League, Rugby and AFL codes will look all peachy clean again in comparison

Time for more than a two year ban from any sport if found guilty.
They are professional sportsmen, so a **mandatory minimum 10 year** ban first up would be a decent deterrent.

They'll end up here too, FT - mark my words. No offence, cause I know you love it, but the game seems to breed hooligan nut jobs wherever it is played.

I totally agree with you flip .
It is sickening to think that a Family can't take there young kids without having there young kids witnessing and feeling scared from what these Hooligans do at games .

I recall reading about the Wanderers and Sydney FC supporters getting into some kind of melee near a Cafe or Restaurant in Sydney a while back.
Everyone should have a right to feel safe going to watch there side play , in whatever code they follow.

I agree , Bulldogs supporters used to be the nut jobs . The mob mentality of soccer supporters takes it to another level IMO .

Too true mate. I just don't get why they get so worked up and have to carry on like that - it's just bloody football. This is probably not a nice thing to say, but they are almost the sporting equivalent to ISIS!

Troublesome fans are easily dealt with. NRL has a much bigger cultural issue from grassroots to top grade amongst it's player group. Our children's supposed role models. I really struggled to get my kids to come to the games with me last year. They used to beg me to take them in the rain.

We are getting of Topic here Flip and won't be long before someone says so , but i will leave you with this…... As i follow Leeds United we had 2 supporters stabbed to Death in Turkey when we played Galatasaray back in 2000 in a UEFA CUP Semi Final read the article

I dislike the term ' role models' being used for sports stars , they aren't role models IMO

parents , grand parents , direct family members and even School teachers are role models .

From what I've heard over the years, there is a strong drug culture amongst many professional athlete groups and NRL is no different - young, impressionable, famous, feeling of being invincible, big peer groups, many on big money.

In some ways they have lifestyles like rock stars, with the travel, fame, party times. Only that rock stars don't have routine drug tests.

So this would only be the tip of a very big iceberg. Even just looking at Houston and Wicks being done a few years ago, now this lot.

No probs FT…I'm sure more will come out in the coming days to talk about...

Hobbo is spot on great post ...they aren't role models the true role models start in the home....If kids are influenced by 'sport stars'..there's something wrong there...

I agree and spot on hobbo.
How many kids have been let down by role models they thought they can look up to ?
Then Parents have to figure how to explain to there young kids what they have done :brick: .
You will probably have a young kid asking his Father Tomorrow night why Hunt is not playing for the Reds ?
These Professionals if you want to call them that ? don't understand what an important role they play in a young fans life . As a kid i used to look up to Junior Pearce as my role model and to me he truly was .
