I can't wait to do some damage: Thompson

Wests Tigers forward recruit Bodene Thompson says he's ready to rip and tear after a long lay off with injury.

The former Titan is back on the field after a ten-month lay off and said he spent Friday's trial against Penrith feeling his way back into the game.

"I wasn't very happy with my game personally, I need to work on my timing, getting back used to tackling after that shoulder injury," said Thompson.

"I'll get back to training and work on it. I can't wait to get out there and do some damage next weekend.

"It was only the first game back in, it was more just getting the feel for contact and hitting the ground. I'll get back there.

"I was gassing out there at the start. It was a bit different, I haven't been on the field for ten months or so but it was good to get there first one out of the way.

"I can't wait to get back on the field next week."

The Kiwi is enjoying life at his new club and says the feeling around the club is a good one.

"It was good to be out in the orange jersey," said Thompson.

"There's a good feeling with the boys in the team, they're all great blokes.

"Everyone went good tonight, Luke Brooks I thought stood up, "Big T" (Taqele Naiyaravoro) on the left edge, he went exceptional, Meaney on the right side. They were all exceptional."

has loads of potential this bloke , injury free year and i think will see a bargain signing IMO…

Couldn't agree more, plenty of good judges in QLD rated him the next big thing, injury and a glut of backrowers at the Titans prevented this happening,he is only 22 or 23,he will make good on those predictions.

I know a few people who know Bodene well and they believe he has really matured as a person and he no longer takes being a professional footballer for granted… He has had a horrid run with ongoing injuries, so I'm hoping he can stay healthy in 2013 and build some consistency into his game.

While getting into the Tigers Backrow is not an easy task, if he is prepared to do all the 1%'s in NSW Cup week after week, I'm sure we will see Bodene at some stage this year.

That's really good to hear. And the Tigers backrow is looking for a little depth with the losses of Ellis and Heighington. Here's hoping he can step-up.
