I feel Sheens needs to go .....

Y'know, a lot of people saying OMFG SACK SHEENS! Not many people suggesting a coach.

If and I mean its a very big IF, we had to get rid of Sheens, who would you go with?

**CRACK** "Underdog smashes one into left field!!"

I'd go with Todd Payten.

You must not have read a lot because there have been quite a few suggested replacements thrown out there
Stuart
Folkes
Brown
Anderson
Taylor

Folkes, preferably, or anyone who can lift the team out of it's mediocrity mentality. That they turn up to games mentally not ready and clock off well before the game is over, more often than not, is unacceptable for an NRL team.

In the past when we have been playing busted we have usually kept in the contest on the back of an attack second to none. This year that isn't the case, we are a very slow predicable football team and we will struggle to beat any top eight side and that will not change while Sheens picks his best players out of position and preservers with out of form players Over the next few years we should see a lot of the old guard move on, with a new group of players coming through would be a great time to close the book on Sheens.

And which of these successful coaches currently hold down a gig in the NRL?
Which of these coaches have a history of keeping the support of the player group?
Which of these guys allow their teams to play with flair and ad lib football that is wests style?
We have a team that plays a certain way. It's heart in the mouth stuff but it's a style that suits the key players. Unless you get a coach that complements the playing style of the team, you end up with what parra have.
So If you sack the coach you better be prepared to lose Benji and Robbie. Because they will follow the coach who lets them play their way.
So out of these coaches who allows the free running style?
Which of them wouldn't try to shut down the creativity independence and flair?
Who keeps the support of the player group?

Stuart… You have to be kidding. He is a control freak who won't pick Robbie for the very reason he doesn't play to a gameplan
Folkes... Control freak, offloaded JT because he didn't suit the dogs style.
Brown... Very happy in England, had the opportunity to come back to oz. Struggled to coach the best roster in the comp which won the comp 2 yrs later
Andersen... Sacked from 3 clubs, the last after taking the team to the GF the year before. Lost support of player group, every time plus would be on very good coin with media duties
Taylor... See Anderson.

it really is time for a change. the bloke seems to have waaaaay too much control over the whole system at WT.

to his credit, imo his recruiting is awesome, with a few hits and misses. if i was sheens, i would understand that the club needs a fresh perspective in order to succeed. he has built one of THE best rosters in the nrl, but we need someone new who can take charge off field as well as on field (pref, a captain halfbak)

@900 large, I think GNR was just inferring there were other suggestions posted in the thread, as opposed to these being his opinions. Irrespective, some valid points made.

I slept fine too because my expectations now are very very low….I was unimpressed but not surprised by last nights display

However I dont like feeling this way....thats why I want change and improvement.....

Totally agree as I felt the same way. Also in previous years when we've had the bye, it killed me waiting for the team to go around. One more thing, do you guys remember the video Bonstonker put together for the 2012 season, I used to get so revved up with tears in my eyes, but it's not doing the trick at the moment.

Lol get a grip people. I know some of you think Sheens is the messiah, but the question was asked what replacements were out there, and i was merely just pointing out a few. I'll be careful next time, because i should have known there will never be anyone good enough to replace the 'master coach'

And by the way 900large, calling Stuart and Folkes 'control freaks', we all know that isn't Sheens don't we :unamused:

I think contol freak is part of the job description for an NRL coach…

One thing all must realize is their is no turning back Once Sheens is gone he is GONE

If we end up with someone worse , its not like we can turn around and say "Sorry Tim , we were wrong can you please ,pretty please come back " It ain't happening

That old saying " Be careful what you wish for ,it may actually happen"

when we are winning you lot love him when we loose some you hate him , do you really want ricky stuart or matt elliot , stephen kearny , brian smith , david furner , john cartwright , sheens is way better than all of this crap heap , but like happy tiger said he may just up and leave then what , sign one of these , please

Agree that this is another one of those threads.

I think Sheens will part at some stage but I would leave it almost to him to choose his successor.

Whilst not sustained through out, The Sheens era is the only era in which we have tasted any success.

As for good coaches on the market, I recall the thread talking up Stephen Kearney a few years back, In hindsight Im glad of who we have steering the ship. Just ask Parra fans,

Re: I feel Sheens need to go.. **and tell players who are not performing, either play well or pi.s off to park footy.**then follow thru with it.

When Tim Sheens does move on, love him or not, he is the coach who mentored the team to a premiership.

now whilst that was last decade and history , I am confident the team will reach ultimate success, whilst he is coach, this decade.

Tim Sheens will never leave the WT. He'll end up in a similar role to that of Phil Gould at the Panthers. Not a bad thing by my thinking. And I also think he'll be choosing who coaches the WT next.
