A cheque for flights overseas. Traveling is a rite of passage and something all late teens should do! Get her to plan it all - the itinerary, picking the flights, finding accommodation etc. Not only will it be a great experience but she'll also learn a lot too.

I did a five and a half month round the world trip when I finished at Uni (age 22) and it was the greatest thing I've done. I was always one who was very meticulous, planned everything ahead of time and what not but learnt to let go and enjoy the ride. Definitely look at things a whole lot differently now
