….If we didnt have Benji or Robbie in our side....
which other player would you havee ?...
(You can choose from the entire NRL, but they have to be a 5/8 & hooker)...

i'm bored too..,

i can honestly say Benji is the best i've seen - i'm only 45 so i'm sure many people have seen more than i have.

But i did see the great tigers teams from the 80's and i lived in Lidcombe, i saw the greats from wests and loved them too.

But i have to say there has never been a greater player and person then benji mashall. I have had conversations, had phots with him,he has signed my jerseys - and always he's the nicest sporst person i've ever met..

he's one of a kind - i love benj
 
probably cam smith and thurston

maybe issac luke and scott prince

9 - Nathan Fien

Both would suit are expansive style. People like Cameron Smith are too structured for the Tigers.

Couldnt go past Carney and Luke, but Mrs T makes a good point…........Moltzen at 6 is an exciting thought. Hope we never see it though because that means we either lose Marshall or Tim.
 
You know, I'd be happy to throw young Miller in there and give him the opportunity to make the position his own with Lui outside him. I am not as concerned if Benji picks up an injury as I have been in the past, providing it is not full season ending.

Hooker is a different matter. Not many teams have a high profile hooker anymore. We do, Storm do, Manly do…but then who are the hookers for the Cowboys, Broncs, Sharks, Raiders...even the dragons don't have what I would call a high profile hooker. Is this position becoming less important or did I just pick the top 3?

Young King for the Dragons looks to be a prospect, but now he is out long term. CAn I pick two halfbacks instead.....half the teams in the comp seem to...

Cowboys - Aaron Payne (just missed out to Ballin for an Origin berth in 2010)!

Broncos - Andrew McCullough (a real up & coming star)!

Raiders - Tongue & Waddell (Waddell being yet another up & comer)!!

Even the Sharks have John Morris & Paul Aiton (+ Stu Flanagan)!!!

Maybe not high profile in the media - but all are quality performers!

Personal opinion think Dean Young is a far better player than Nathan Fien more complete game better defender can play almost any position far less erratic if the Kiwis had choice i reckon they would pick Young over Fien

I doubt it mate - Fien is a genuine dummy half - while Young is more a lock by nature!

Even St George have bought the likes of Woolford, Priddis & Fien in recent years to play hooker because Young is more a stop-gap player in that position!

And currently Young is third in their hooking pecking order after Fien & King!

Young was not picked as a hooker in the Australian squad (that would have made for three specialist nines in that squad with Smith & Farah)! He was there as a back-row utility!!!
