If Sheens goes..who would you suggest to be next Aussie coach...

Let's have a fair dinkum civilised debate on who you think should coach the Australin side if Sheens was sacked…remember the rules regarding coaching at that level, they can't be an origin,or NRL coach or assistant coach so they tell me,please correct me if I'm wrong..GEO is the facts man he may help us with those rules.....

Ok here I go with my input...remember peeps be civilised...

My choice would be Potter,he wasn't given a decent go with us because of ALL the circumstances regarding his employment with us..remember the Robbie thing, his hands tied, dis function at all levels and no money to buy what he needed,he couldn't even buy a beer without giving the club a receipt (just joking there guys) and absolutely no depth because of the incredible injury toll...

If we go back to last year and see how we dealt with Manly,Dogs And Souths,to me he has the ability to win games with the talent that is in the national player pool..

What I'm saying and although there are heaps on here who dislike him,his work ethics and team game plans "If we had our full squad available all year" are pretty hard not to notice after the results of beating the Big Guns of the premiership....He also had the guts to bench Marshall and the reasons why have been made quite clear since...

Given an even platform and player pool I do think he could make a go of it....this is just my opinion.......go for it guys, throw something at me....but be civilised please...

Potter for me too.
He had us firing and going very well with a below average team last year.
Imagine what he could do with the Australian team.

What's potter doing now btw?

I'd go Hasler- can't believe he hasn't coached a rep team

I reckon Bellamy will get it.

He has already announced that his current contract is his last at club level (retiring at around the same time that Slater, Smith and Cronk do is probably best for his legacy).

His current contract expires in 2016, so he could coach both the Aussies and the Storm for one season before taking up reigns as full time Australian coach at the end of next year.

Australia only has one test in that period anyway so it would barely hinder him at club or international level.

I hope Bellamy doesn't get it.
He will keep Slater, Smith and Cronk around for longer than they deserve.

I saw something in one of the papers yesterday saying that he is in the mix, God I hope not , after sitting through an earlier period when he had the Origin side , I hope that he is never put in charge of a rep team ever again.
I have never seen a blues side play so bad as his did . They played like they had never seen each other before.
He may be a good coach when he has players to work with over long time, but that's not Rep coaching where you have to get a lot of different egos all running in the same direction. He can't do that.
When he had NSW, he was more worried that he would end up with injuries to his little clan in the Qld team than he was about NSW winning.
For a professional to come out and say that he didn't want to coach against his qld players was the strangest thing I have ever heard a professional Coach say.
He shouldn't have worried as the blues played like they had no coach at all .
Surely those that saw how he was incapable of coaching nsw will not repeat the same mistake.

Whoever it is has to be a great man manager as many of the players pick themselves.

I reckon Walters, Fittler, Barrett could be a good fit. You've also got guys like Nathan Brown.

They prefer non-club coaches and origin coaches can't coach the Aussie side. Otherwise I'd pick Hasler or Cleary.

A bit left wing, but anyone reckon Sterlo would make a great Australian coach. Not really a full-time assignment, would he be interested? Great football brain.

Sterlo would be the best man for the job IMO, I just don't think he'd take it.

Not to mention the fact that it would be yet another instance where being shonky gets rewarded with positions among rep teams. Get Gus to do it, he would bring a bit of spirit to the Aussie jersey. For some reason he doesn't seem to be keen,I would of thought he would of seen it as a crowning moment of his distinguished coaching career.

Happy Tiger…

Nah the whole team would be made up of Queenslanders

If we're looking at non-club coaches, I'd go for either Gould or Daniel Anderson - is he still around?

Mal Meninga will step aside after this SOO series, and more than likely move onto the Kangaroos.

John Grant is a big Mal fan!

Will he be taking Mick Hagan with him or can he actually Coach now…???

The Australian Coach doesnt Coach… He technically is the Manager.

I very much doubt Daley coaches either.

Ah so that's why the Kiwis belted us….no game plans just go out there and do it for the Jersey...need a new plan...

Of course… Get rid of Tamou, Bird & Lewis!

Problem Fixed

I think we take the lead from the Kiwis. Its too big a job for an NRL head coach and no state is going to give the other state coach a leg up ( cough Terry Fearnley).

We should be looking at the assistant NRL coaches. There are some really decent options in amongst them.
