If we make the finals next year

If we make the finals next year and I mention on here that I'll be going to the game, can someone please stop me? Since we became the Wests Tigers, I've only been to 2 finals matches - last year versus St Geo and Friday night, and I've walked away a loser both times. I had to watch the whole of the 2005 finals series on TV because I couldn't get a ticket for the Saints Prelim Final or GF, so I have yet to experience the euphoria of winning a finals match live at the ground with all the other Tigers fans around me.

After Friday night, with WT coming off a run of 9 straight wins (none of which I saw live) I am now convinced I am a jinx! I've been quite philosophical about our loss for the past day and a half and have been on here writing silly, almost humourous posts to make me feel better, but today the loss (and the awful experience of sitting through it at the venue, yet again) has hit me like a ton of bricks 😢

So, no finals for me next year and we should be sweet! I guess I'll just have to get used to enjoying the wins from my warm, little lounge room in future. It will sure beat the feeling of a loss in a cold, empty stadium!

Youre not alone.
My girl has only ever been to two WTs games ….the two you mentioned.
Works most weekends.
I told her as we walked out on Friday "Youre bad luck"
Will have to get to a comp game sometime with her to break this run of semi's losses

SFS is my demon ground. I don't go much as it's a hassle to get there but I think every time I've gone we lose!!

Keep getting out there folks. Theres nothing quite like being there when they win. Complete strangers high fiving , embracing etc . People from all walks of life with one thing in common…. The Mighty Wests Tigers!!! Besides.........the law of averages says the more times you go, the more chance you have of being there when they win

I live in perth so only get to see them live once or twice a year

I have been to 10 -15 games and they have lost everytime

This year it was against titans at skilled

Last year it was against the rabbits at scg

Feel free to delete if this is off-topic, but..

I had similar luck. I went to Tigers/bulldogs game at ANZ, Tigers/Souffs game at ANZ, Tigers/St George game at Win Jubilee and Tigers/Melbourne at Leichhardt and weirdly enough, they lost all those games..

I also went to a few games at Win Stadium (local) this year with a few mates (dragons supporters) when they played Knights, Souffs and Roosters and they lost all three, then the next game at Win when I didn't go, (I think it was against the warriors) they won xD

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Stryker! After reading some of the replies above, especially that one, I don't feel so bad anymore! At least I have seen them win during the regular season :stuck_out_tongue:

Flippedy, Keep going. The feeling after a finals win is something to be savoured. Be aware that the only impact you have on the game when you go as a fan is positive. Some things we can't change from the sidelines. Your luck will change.
Why Benji didn't see me when I was telling him to go for the two points after our last penalty on Friday I don't know :brick:

Thank you for your positive post, Tigergirlz. Perhaps I will give it another shot - here's hoping!

My wife and I have always thought we would jinx the team by watching the Tigers games live on TV, so we do not! However, I have been to finals we have won …. and ... I have to admit, two we lost.
May I suggest the first step to redemption for you is to change the title of your thread to **"When** we make the finals next year."

I moved to Australia in 2006, so obviously we've only been in the finals twice when I've has a chance to go. Here's my record:

2010, Roosters: I went.
2010, Raiders: I didn't go.
2010, Dragons: I went.
2011, Dragons: I didn't go.
2011, Warriors: I went.

This is a pretty spectacular performance given my regular season record in the past two years is quite strong. In 2010 I saw 8 wins out of 13 regular season games, in 2011 it was 9 out of 12\. I have been banned from going next year, if we make it.

I have supported Wests and the Tigers since 1977
Took me 26 years to see them win live (2003 v Broncos)
My car broke down on the way to a win we had against Gold Coast Seagulls in either 90-91
Been pretty lucky since 2003 though

I feel for you 2041\. In the past two years I've seen the Tigers play live on three occasions (Gold Coast x2 and the Roosters final).

my missus reckons im banned from the finals as well went to the roosters game last year and the warriors game this year.

I have a pretty decent finals record…

I've seen us beat the
Cowboys twice,
Dragons twice,
Broncos,
Raiders.

I've also been at our 3 losses.

Batting over 60% so far.....
