If you were coaching against the Tigers

What would be your game plan? Who would you target? Bellamy openly admitted to targeting Harry in their late game against us.

Based on 2020, I'd have been targeting this:

Benji - Known for being defensively suspect and with age getting worse.

BJ - poor positionally with a habit of rushing up and through the line leaving the winger stranded. Also unfit and unlikely to recover from an error.

AK, Talau and MBye; poor under the high ball so vulnerable.

The middle on later tackles - we were terrible in the middle when the opposition got a quick PTB. Aloiai, Eiso and even Harry were susceptible to an 'outside in' and we simply lacked security around the ruck. I can think of at least two critical tries through the middle at crucial times.

AD - his positional play at fullback wasn't great and he doesn't recover well.

Mbye; I can't finish without mentioning the horrific game he had with Hoffman outside him. They were playing towards Hoffman but Mbye dumped on him with poor reads.

Nothing personal against any of the players but hopefully we'll be better next year.

I don't necessarily think Kepoa was too bad under the high ball, he dropped a few in his debut but from memory was pretty safe in his other games.
Would definitely target Mbye with bombs, he needs to really put some work in over the off season if he is in all likelihood our FB next season.

Hard down the middle, with a lurking sprinter looking for offloads later. Attack the fringes late in the set. Crossfield kicks against our wingers and centres on the line.

Agreed - we couldn't shut down offloads and once they were away we couldn't defend the second phase play.

agree with the above - target A defenders and behind the ruck....we have the slowest movement off our D line and our A defenders (who are meant to lead line speed unless you play an up &in defense) are terrible defenders. Our marker defense is also pretty average.
Hit behind A defender and 2nd Marker with a QPTB will catch them all the time. I am hoping Tamou and Twal will sort this out next year as Twal is not a lock forward and nor should he be.

This year, run at Benji all game. Target in behind the markers, get the forwards popping inside passes or the hooker dummying and running in behind. We got busted open up the middle heaps this year. Another easy target was Joey and Nofa, run decoys at them and create easy overlaps

Just ask RCG
But we have fixed that problem now 🤣

Our right side defence has been abysmal for a long time so keep on testing that area
And I agree our line speed is way to slow
To many easy meters given away all over the park
We must improve these areas to have a chance at the 8

Yup straight up the middle, quick play the ball for a couple.ideally target hooker and meter eater.
Shift wide and isolate Benji and hit a hole runner or go wider.
Kick to either winger, depending on who us the mismatch.
Long kicks bounce but to fullback, get them to run away from nofo
Second phase play just before our first set of interchanges.

Defensively - fast line speed

Head up the middle draw 5 defenders in the tackle get the offload and spread to edges rinse and repeat

I thought Knights did a wonderful job putting 40 something points on us by targeting and isolating Nofa one on one with Edrick Lee.
