If you were in charge at Tigers what would you change and do? I would start off with:

*Release Tim Sheens and get a good coach preferably Craig Bellamy.
*Sign a couple of props, don't need to be popular props just sign some with good size and are not afraid to run straight at the defence.
*Sign two good centres with good speed preferably Jarrod Croker and bring up David Nofoaluma from NYC and move Chris Lawrence back to the wing.
*Release Benji Marshall, bring up the two young halves we have in NYC that five eighth is unstoppable the way he breaks the line is great to have in a team and Jacob Miller also has a good kicking game.
*Release Adam Bair, the only reason he played well against the Storm is because it was his old team.

Side afterwards:

1\. James Tedesco
2\. Chris Lawrence
3\. Jarrod Croker
4\. David Nofoaluma
5\. Marika Koroibete

6\. Matt Mulcahy
7\. Jacob Miller

8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Robbie Farrah ©
10\. Ben-Murdoch Masila

11\. Braith Anasta
12\. Eddy Pettybourne
13\. Curtis Sironen

14\. Beau Ryan
15\. Mose Masoe
16\. Adam Blair
17\. Mosese Fotuaika
18\. Matt Bell

No idea. That halves pairing would be destroyed at NRL level.

How would you know? I was speaking to a couple of the Dogs NYC players yesterday and they said, amongst other things, that Mulcahy could be a very good first grade half back. Has tons and I mean tons of speed, elusive and is not a bad defender. Needs a bit of strengthening but would go ok. Miller should be there as he is the best half in the NYC by far and deserves a chance, not just a half a game here and there.

I can understand why some people want Marshall gone, he is getting to big for his boots. No player is irreplaceable.

Do not be surprised if Farah goes to Parramatta with Stuart.

Sheens is a dead man walking.

Read on another forum yesterday that Robbie was spotted in Parramatta having lunch with Sticky and his manager

I would sack sheens, release Ayshford, Moltzen, Reddy, Heighnington upgrade Farah with Heighningtons salary to make him the highest paid player in the team because he is the heart and sole of our team, put every one on notice no more boys club bs poor performances = Dropped to state cup or sold to the highest bidder. In my opinion the only hard nosed coach who wouldn't put up with shit is Folkes, the players would at the very least try 100% or be dropped.

I have to disagree about Miller being the best halfback in the 20's, the halfback for Souths Luke Keary is the gun halfback in the 20's just in front of Mitchell Cornish from the Raiders IMO & I'd take either of them in front of Miller any day of the week, but each to there own.

Aside from Miller's goalkicking the other day, from what I saw he offered very little and was a turnstyle in defence. Mulchay has good speed but he's a midget and Miller isn't much bigger. They'd both be physically dominated in FG, and while Miller has talent, he also has a tendency to "not show up" on occasion. Given the closeness in age I'd be looking to promote Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses ahead of Miller and Mulchay.

Firstly Tim sheens in my opinion has done a good job at the tigers until the 2nd half of this season and I like a lot of you I beleive it is time for him to move aside for a new coach. The players have stopped listening so the first thing I do If I'm in charge is
Allow Sheens to fall on his sword. Hire Steve Folkes He'll come at a cheaper price than most other available NRL caliber coaches. He'll stop the boys club that poppa Sheens had going on and he'll get the steel back in there defense.
I would not sack Humphrey's he actually isn't doing that bad and I believe as he is a former player he has a genuine desire to see this team succeed. He should also write an open letter to members to apologies for such a poor season and offer members something very token like announcing the team at lunch time and dinner time.

In terms of players we probably need a Halfback but it is probably not essential when you see what is on the market. We need props and Masoe and Kite will be good
So my team round 1 assuming all are healthy is
1\. James Tedesco
2\. Beau Ryan
3\. David Nofoaluma
4\. Chris Lawrence
5\. Marika Koroibete
6\. Curtis Sironen
7\. Benji Marshall
8\. Arron Woods
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Keith Galloway
11\. Adam Blair ( tipping a big improvement)
12\. Chris Heigington
13.Braith Anasta
14.Mose Masoe
15\. Brent Kite
16\. Liam Fulton
17\. BMM / Matt Utai ( unfortunaly the way the game is played a winger at his height is such a disadvantage but he still has good value as an impact player)
force guys like Moltzen and Ayshford to earn there way back into the side. No spot for Bell , Pettybourne or thompson but they should all get a few cracks in the top grade through out the season.

We now have a deep roster and if Sironen is fit he gives us more direction than Liam Fulton and while sironen was there playing well the tigers were as well.
Farah MUST be resigned at the end of the season.
Folkes has to work with Todd Payton to get guys Fotuaika and Mulachy and Marshall - King ready for first grade. for when the time comes Braith leaves Sironen moves into the backrow and he now need another half.
He have a good young core now with a defensive minded coach and guys like Farah and Marshall there is a good foundation to be a solid NRL team. :sign:

And some people on this forum say that Humphrey's is only responsible for sponsorship & membership not hiring & firing coach & players

Humphrey's may have swung the axe , but Sheens would have sharpened it

Coaches always make the final calls on who stays and who goes

Remember these guys live and die on their personnel (well maybe not in Sheens case , but most other clubs do)

If you get the chance read the Wayne Bennett book he puts it in no uncertain terms who makes the calls on who stays and who doesn't

Miller was the State of Origin halfback for NSW. Watching the game on Friday, Anasta stated that he was the best halfback by far in the NYC. Heard him previously ( before he signed with the WST ) and other comentators state the same. I agree that the games that have been on TV (which have been about 3 in total) he does not seem to run the ball enough. However, this could be under instruction from Payten. When he does run he is very dangerous. He is a tough defender and has the best kicking game in the NYC. Worth a shot in first grade. Cannot hurt and allows Benji to move back to his rightful position and lets Anasta move to lock or second row.

I dont know about tough defender mate, the times I've seen him he's been a non defender.

The two I rated better than Miller were named in the toyota cup team of the year & i don't think that because of playing SOO in the 20's or being named in the team of the year you can say one's better than the other. My opinion is just based on watching the 20's this year & who i though were the gun halfback's this year, i also think Keary is a better kicker in general play than Miller. With Anasta talking Miller up, it could be a combination of him already having playing FG & that he is now joining our club or not having seen the other two play, he also tipped us to win the game even though they were the minor premiers & they had beat us twice this year. Have you seen the other two play? I've been disappointed in Miller since he was dropped back to the 20's & on his current form I couldn't pick him in FG. I enjoy watching the juniors & trying to spot who will make it to FG.

Anasta's comments may come from following his career, he did play at Roosters before coming to WT.

Just an opinion, but I don't think Miller has played to his potential since his brief stint in NRL this year. Straight after his body language seemed like "why bother" and while I think that's a very unhealthy attitude it could be the reason.

And more recently it's almost like he is trying to play WT NRL style. Do you think he runs more laterally than he used to? I seem to remember him playing more direct footy in the past!

I would still give him a shot in 1st grade, and be patient with him. If Anasta played lock, Farah hooker and Marshall 5/8 (my preference) he would be surrounded by plenty of good senior influence.

Maybe it is still on the cards, when I last saw Farah interviewed he was very quick to say "Jacob is staying with us for next year"…
