All talk. No action.

100% agree there

I honestly don't know what you mean. As TIGERPOWER noted, Cleary has signed 2 x mid-season quality players precisely where we are lacking.

He's also dropped pretty much every non-performer this year at one time or another - e.g. Lolo, Nofo, MWZ, Fonua, Naiqama, Aloiai, Sue, Grant, McQueen - all played reggies this year.

Have you heard of the phrase "shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic"?

There was a major roster overhaul last year, we started well, now we are falling away. If you want another major roster overhaul already for 2019, so be it, but that's not guaranteed success either.

The question is really not about lack of action, the question is can Clearly put together and coach a competitive side over 3-4 years of his contract. So far the answer is "sort of". He got some good results last year, some good results this year, but not enough consistent results. We appear an average side and unfortunately average sides do finish 9th and 10th regularly, so you need to question the expectations of fans vs the ability of the team.

How do we get a non-average side? I can't tell you that, Roosters seem to do it easily enough but we don't / can't compete with them in terms of roster building and really we haven't for 30 years.

I’m just as baffled as you are. We lose games because we have no hooker and our fullback was terrible. Then we lose games when we have a decent hooker and a decent fullback. Players have been dropped as you stated. It’s very frustrating. The most frustrating thing is what are the answers to becoming a roosters or a Melbourne that are in finals every year and competing for comps. Nothing we do seems to work. It was JT’s fault, then the big fours fault, then farahs fault. We always had someone to blame. Looking at it now we don’t have anyone. So really we are just an average team with average players with average facilities who will win games on their good day, nothing more nothing less. I will still turn up to games and cheer them on, but it is disheartening.

Were an average team because we are an average CLUB with no ambition, just happy to make up the numbers.

The season falling off a cliff has frustrated me.

#MarchPremiers

Same here, look I didn't expect us to make the 8 so I won't be shocked when we don't.

I was pleasantly surprised by our start but was realistic enough to understand it wasn't going to last all season and at some stage the close games and arm wrestles were going to wear us down.

I just didn't expect it to happen so suddenly and now the climb back to where we were looks like a steep slope with a strong wind in our face.

I've been saying if for a while now but I just can't see where our points are going to come from, look at the tries we scored they we're from inside our own half or around halfway and not exactly from anything we executed.
Look at what we come up with when we do get in the attacking zone, side to side sideways rubbish.

Dude that’s garbage and I’m sure you know it!

You can’t honestly believe that any player out there has no ambition or are happy to make up numbers. We may not have the facilities or level of quality of players across our squad as other teams do but to suggest anyone within the club turns up every week without the intention to win is so far from reality it’s not funny.

Composure and self belief. WT have lost it.
They had it in spades at the start of the season but consistently losing by a few points each game has allowed self doubt, and doubt in your team mates, to enter. In a team of low profile battlers that can carry the flag as long as they have self belief on their side, self doubt, doubt in your teammate and a lack of leadership have eroded the teams ability to win.
These are the same players that successfully went toe to toe with some of the NRL's big name teams with big name players. They frustrated those teams out of each game with dogged play and good game control. Those games were ably controlled by Benji Marshall taking the lead. Brooks can't do it and it appears Benji has once again lost his mojo and (when he is playing) looks for miracle plays. In the absence of any leadership, everybody either panics or looks for miracle plays. Dropped balls, pushed passes, poor decision making.
We've been here before. We need someone on the paddock that can control a game and restore belief on the run, E.G. a true leader. Till we got that I think it's more of the same.

Im talking about managenent. Not the coaching or playing group.

Id blame the fans, players and coaches who accept mediocrity more than i would the management.

For too long people have been happy with being average, people have excused every average roster, people have excused every average coach.

lol tried that didn't work..good luck tho..

I thought I had the answer before the commencement whistle was even blown - the Titans ran onto the field and compared to our boys they were titans in more than name. I thought "gee they are big guys" it will be fun trying to stop them.

We are travelling about where we should be imo. The rosters of all the teams above us are far superior, and we should be thankful for grinding out some ugly wins in the first few rounds, while some better teams were underdone.
The biggest concern for us is the underwhelming performances of our three highest paid recruits and the length of time we have signed them for. Paid overs with very little value and all three look busted
Cleary must accept some responsibility for that although he cant be held responsible for the reasons why quality players dont want to sign with this club, and or the lack of prospective juniors that we use to transtion through the ranks.
We have a level of stability under Cleary which we havnt had for a while but the false hope, that the season offered at the beginning of the year was exactly that.
We need some new players to strengthen our roster and some need to be moved on. Mybe is a start.
We committ to him or we bring in someome else the problems still remain.

Common man you know that's not true.

He has dropped Tui, NoFo, sitting Liddell in ISP. Drop mwz but injuries opened the door for him and others.

He saw a problem at hooker he got Farah . Saw tui wasn't working got Mbye.

he has pursued others but they didn't work out, can't put a gun to their heads.

Mats and packer most of us thought they were going to kill it but haven't.

Our defence was a problem he fixed it…...... Well made it better.

He is still looking for more players. He has said some of the current squad won't be here long term.

Guys having a red hot go, just some of the team are not.

Been the same problem for many years now. Recruitment has done nothing to address this.

He named 5 captains because he thought no one player had truly stood out. Well one has all year, even after we fell off a cliff. Rowdy deserves the role on his own.
