Inglis hopefully out.

2 things for me made me think this is bad for Inglis.
First, he was moving up when he made contact. Even if Young was standing still he is still aiming contact towards the head.
Secondly, it looked like contact was made with the forearm and not the shoulder.

I think he was going for a fair shot on Young but just mistimed it. No malice, just reckless.
If the NZ born Queenslander who played for Tonga got two weeks so should the NSW born Quenslander who plays for Souths.

Even tho this game is 1 week away, I think we can expect Souths to be without Greg Inglis. I presume he will cop a few weeks holiday after the savage tackle on Dean Young tonight.

Which gets me thinking, we have been pretty fortunate playing against teams missing they're star players.

In hindsight it's probably not a good thing for us, I think we perform better under pressure.

In any case this game is shaping up to be a cracker !

Why is it worse?

I think Young being tackled from behind by Farrell I think, makes the whole thing worse, prevents young from using footwork.
Both Young and Inglis were at full pace heading towards each other.....Inglis braced himself for the impact.
Im not saying he should escape suspension.....precedents have already been set

There is no fairness when a player gets placed on report and the oppsition player is knocked out and can no longer play out the game, but the player that has been placed on report gets to play out the game (where is the fairness). I'M refering to the Inglis incident . There should be such rule where Inglis can no longer play the game , if Young recovers and is able to come on and play later on in the game , only then is Inglis to return. Why do the Dragons have to pay the price in being disadvantaged while Inglis gets to play out the game, obviously the video ref has found enough evidence to place him on report to begin with. It happens in other games as well.

Ugly result in a contact sport… There was no intent, but he probably will get either a grade 1 or 2 charge. Does he have any loading? (it's definitely different to Kasiano's hit)

Ironically, I'd love to see a Wests Tigers Fullback attack the ball carrier like that!

Hmmm tough one. No malice I don't think, but probably a little mistimed. Might get a week or 2\. People on other forums were comparing it to priors hit on thurston. No where near as bad IMO.

I think physics - and im no expert here - will always see an arm go in an upwards motion when a collision of this sort occurs, you only have to experiment yourself and imagine youself shouldering into another person coming at you, for me theres nothing down, its all up….but I'm over 6' tall too

People see souths, they see Inglis...and theres all this outrage.....you take this out of the game and youre taking what makes the game what it is away, its toughness and brutality

Yeah was just thinking the same thing Ink, the cards are falling our way and if we can beat NQ then I think it is a 4 point gap, if we lose, then there are so many teams only 2 behind us.

Inglis has been trying to smash a player that's made a break all year . For memory against Brisbane he did it a few times .. Something like this was eventually going to happen , I think he will get at least 2-3

If thats correct, which it may be….it wont be taken into consideration unless hes been put on report or charged with it before
