A grub of the highest order and not a bad full back.
A decent referee would have a field day with Goanna. Always walks 2-3 metres off the mark when playing the ball, pushes the marker over at least 50% of the time (sometimes base over apex) , not to mention the elbows in the face etc….

Plays about 20% of the game at best (Oh! I hear you say - what a 20%!).
To compare him to Thurston who is in the game for about 85-90% is an insult to a great little footballer.

An Immortal - you would have to be joking.

I'll be the crazy one - I wouldn't take him for nothing.

I 'll stick with Teddy because I think he is going to be a better full back and he's not an arrogant grub.

Mate, that is just deluded. Hate the person all you want, but don't let it influence your opinion of him as a player.

You may call it deluded. I do not hate him.

My opinion and it is my opinion that he is not as good as everyone says.
I think he goes on with too much dirty play, I don't think he plays the whole game.

Am I not allowed to have this opinion - I thought that the Forum was to express an opinion.

Do I have to also think that he is better than Thurston or that he will be an immortal?

That'll do me.

Ok Mate - If it will make you happy - he is the greatest player that ever played the game. Make ya happy that everyone thinks the same as you?

Pardon me for having an opinion.

Wow, relax. You said it yourself, its a forum. You have the right to your opinion, and people have the right to disagree with you, no need to react like a Kardashian.

I'm with ya Rus

Oh please….poor sportsmanship for ''a look" he gave. ?

Serious??

I dunno....

Do you teach kids to rub it in to the opposition when they're on top? In cricket, a bowler will be reprimanded if he/she celebrates in the direction of the batsman. Why? Because it's not in the spirit of the game, and it's not what we should be teaching children. That's how I saw Inglis's look - he should've just turned around and celebrated with his teammates

usually i agree with you mate, but think you're completely off the mark with that.

so what if he looks at teddy? you cant possibly compare cricket to this. in cricket, you can't even show contempt at the umpire's decision. how about when a player puts on a big hit and knocks the ball out? does he not look and stare over him? giving someone that look cannot possibly be bad sportsmanship.

even putting aside my man crush on GI, i dont think he's that "dirty" a player. he plays the game hard. he has the advantage of speed, strength and knowledge of the game- he simply hits hard when he takes on a smaller player and burns the forwards for speed.

Fair enough Tig_prmz, this I can cop. I guess I just expect a bit more class from someone of his stature. In regards to your point on putting on a big hit that leads to an error - yes I agree there is often an in-your-face-element afterwards. However in my opinion, this is different - that battle is not yet won (no points have been scored). But when a try is scored, the attacker wins, so there's no reason to rub the defenders face in it. Same in cricket (sorry to compare this again, I can't help myself)… I'm all for fielders having a sledge, or a fast bowler staring down a batsman after a fiery bouncer. But once the wicket is taken, celebrate with your teammates, not in the face of the opposition.

I enjoyed him giving it to teddy.
He did it because he knows how good he will be, it was in a sense a show of respect.

I think Teddy would disagree 😕

So you agree that its wrong to have someone disagree with you on a public forum? The whole rant of Russell's makes me wonder why you'd even bother coming to a forum if you can't handle someone not being in agreeance. Also says a lot for how much one must value their own opinion to react as outraged as he did.

Inglis' act reminded me of those Muhammid Ali would put on against opponents such as Joe Frazier to make them feel inferior to him.

Really???Now youre comparing kids sport to professional sportsman???
Comparing cricket to NRL?
Youve lost the plot

Its called ''attitude''….and Id sure as hell wish more of our blokes had it, rather than pussy fans whinging about other teams players that live and breathe it

You don't think professional sportsmen act as role models to kids? Is cricket and NRL not both a sport, where good sportsmanship should be displayed at all levels of the game?
How about instead of ridiculing my post, you articulate your point in a constructive manner so that we can have a debate rather than a slanging match.
Also, I'm not sure if you're implying that I'm a pussy, but if so, that is way out of line

Mate if kids are looking to sporstsmen as role models, there parents are doing a crap job.

Its attitude, and its adrenaline…and if it were one of our blokes youd be cheering....this is nothing but a thread reeking of thin skinned hypocrisy and jealousy

Right, well I disagree on that parenting comment.
As for cheering if it was a Tigers player… I genuinely believe I wouldn't. I was cringing last year whenever Woods displayed that smart arse attitude on the field. I'm glad to see he's put it away this year

Really? Another Inglis bashing?

Pure class, and humble to boot.

Don't get the venom at all.

Apart from the incident with his missus some years back, you have to say Inglis is otherwise a good advertisement for the game.

Being indigenous, country boy - he relates with so many target demographics for the NRL.

And despite any hate, unquestionably one of the top 3 footballers going around each year for the past 10 years. He is always a part of successful club, state and national teams.

I'd love to see him get smashed, get done over by someone and take that well-earned grin off his face. But I've yet to see a player come close to managing to do it!

I spose the big hypothetical question is…Would this thread exist if Inglis wore a WESTS Tigers jersey?

The best player in the game at the moment. I wish he was wearing the white black and gold (orange)!

Trent Barrett did a great job of wiping the smug grin off Goanna's dial in Origin years ago….aaah the memories. Break out the spewbags, the Inglis lovefest is in full swing on channel Gus already tonight, I wish Gould would just have his way with the goanna and get his pent-up tension outta his system. If he leaves it any longer his whole body will turn blue.

Another blouse of an effort in last-line defence by Goanna for the Folau try, Garry Jack would be laughing into his beer watching that. Moltzen has been slaughtered on this forum for stauncher efforts than that. Goanna may be Hercules in attack but he is Tinkerbell in defence more often than not. 'Immortals' must be able to tackle…..surely?

Not looking too flash tonight is our Greg - rookie John Falou over the top of him for 2 tries and Reece Robinson just swerved him to score in the corner.

And again for the Robinson try. Goannas have no shoulders, maybe that is the origin of his whole act? The commentators have not once highlighted his disgraceful defence. laughable
