Injuries

Biggest things we'll miss with Packer are his leadership and his defensive work around the ruck .
He has been an absolute rock in defence in the centre of the field and seems to be exceptional at driving the team and keeping the attitude and team ethos together.
Really hope it's not a major injury as I am absolutely convinced that he has been our most important player this year.

Packer is a massive loss. If ET is back we are fine with a prop rotation of Matulino, Teal, Aloai, Eiso is pretty solid. This team has had injuries all year and overcome them.

100%. But as long as Benji stays healthy, we'll have a vocal leader on the field. We also have a lot of hungry boys in ISP itching for a crack at first grade. They won't let us down when they get called up.

Remind me all

Who was the bright one who decided to mock the football injury gods when they said on April Fool's Day that Packer got badly injured at training ???

Thanks …...Thanks very much

That would be teddy23\. This is your first warning teddy. We can't have a curse bringer in the BEAST's fan club.

I’m just going to go uppercut myself…..

BTW does anyone know how I change my bloody username haha I get depressed every time I type my username

Get some advice from Stryker or Munk or …...

I can change your user name if you want…PM me. As for the injuries, we're covered for props with Grant and Sue the most likely to come in. Hopefully Benji is ok but Reynolds should be right next week, plus Gamble is thereabouts for selection too.

Willow :imp:

This bloke took out Packer :rant

You should make his Avatar Tedesco in a Roosters jersey

Use your power for evil , you know you want to :smiling_imp:

Sucks losing Packer for so long, but I hope Felise can get a run at some stage. He played well in the trials, but haven't seen him since. By all accounts he is doing well in ISP, though I imagine Ivan will go with experience to replace Packer, so probably Grant or Sue will get the nod.

We should all be confidant that whoever steps in knows what's expected of them now and that Cleary will know who will be best to fill that role.

Would be great to build the reputation the Storm have had for so long, that no matter who comes in does their job. The good thing is guys like Felise, Sue and Grant are all playing for contracts, so they will be up for it.

Who’s mentioned anything about a long injury? Have I missed something or are we jumping to conclusions??

It's definitely a knee injury. If it's an MCL, like I think, he'll be out for 4-8 weeks.

Why do you think it is a MCL Tacky ??

I'm taping the replay , but it looked like they were heavily strapping the inside of his knee to prevent it hyperflexing

That's just a guess from me. Its a knee injury and it was definitely not an ACL. I just put 2 and 2 together. I don't know if I've come up with 4 or 71 from that tho.

From my experiences with knees if they are concerned with inside of the knee it could be a PCL or a minor ACL /meniscus tear and worse case would be 7 weeks and no surgery

An ACL would be demoralizing. The way Cleary was talking at the presser, I don’t think I’d rule that out. Seems like the best case scenario is he misses 4 weeks.
