To be a top four team you have to win three games out of four and to be a top eight side you need to win slightly less. Its no good having a early season or a late season streak. You need to be able grind the wins out week in and week out and not be more than a win or two off the leaders. Come August we are always under pressure because or early or mid season slumps and usually the reason for these slumps, simple we just dont have enough quality or quantity in the engine room. Galloway goes over and the wheels fall off.

We seem to have gone very quite in the market place,is the cap full?? have we got major money problems with no major sponsor on board for next year or are we going to try and wing it again next year on a 4 cylinder engine and hope to buy a v8 in 2011\. Its not that our players are not up to it, its just we dont have the cattle to get through the rigors of a season. Lets face it this year we had superman for all but two games and Benji and Robbie only missed one or two each and we still came up empty.

The cleanout has began, but it counts for nothing if they are not replaced with someone better. I can see another cleanout next year and the year after with all the failed signings we have made this year. We signed a quality player this year and got more value than the previous 10 signings. It has to be the way to go.

Bring on 2010, one things for certain if their is one team capable of causing a major boil over ,its our mob and we are never without a chance!!!!

In the last 10 years, winning 3 games out of 4 would have gotten you the minor premiership 6 times, 2nd 3 times, and 3rd once. In every year but 2008 and 2009, winning 50% of your games would have been good enough to get you into the top 8.

We are perpetually almost there. Either we have been in the top 8 and then lost form in the final month, or have been outside clawing at the heels. We only needed to improve by maybe 5% and we would be in the finals a few more times. Whether that 5% comes from kicking conversions, the last pass sticking for a try, not giving away that stupid penalty, the right option on the last tackle, or the players scrambling in defense, we always just seem to come up short.

Then a year like 2005 comes along and everything clicks at the right time - magic.

Other years are just heartbreaking. But I like to think they are character-building…
