Is 37 weeks too much football?

how will the reserve clubs lose money? if anything, they will have a better pool of players to choose from if the squad is extended.

Clubs will have 55 players they need to fly to games ,find accommodation for games ,extra wages for extra players more officials to run those teams

Then the games themselves you will need extra officials to referee the games

More wages for having staff at the grounds for longer

I'd love having three grades again , but I don't think it is viable to have 16 reserve grade teams travelling like the NRL sides do

All adds up Prmz

The draw as it stands is a joke. Ideally like to see teams play each other the same number of times, and for full first grade squads to be available for each premiership game. If that meant only playing each opponent once I could live with that and it would probably leave room to expand the comp. A 20 team competition, with each team meeting once gives you 19 rounds of football, which would be about right to make origin weeks standalone.

Ch9 would sook because they don't get to show a Sunday game on delay during origin weeks, so they could be kept happy by making it a full rep round for everyone else, ie, Fiji, NZ, Samoa, Tonga ec. Might even find enough Englishmen in the NRL to make a team.

Channel 9 is a cancer to the game. Showing just ONE live game per week is a friggin joke.

Channel 9 are paying for this game. If I forked out near a billion dollars for something, I'd like to have a very strong say in what it was I got.

I think players put their bodies to the edge with the amount of games they play, but they want the money. Can't have same money less games, it's like an office worker switching to 4 days per week but keeping their full-time salary.

Ch7 or ch10 were paying a bit less than ch9 but they guaranteed 3 live games a week.
