Is Jacob Miller our half back for 2013

He is still very young and has plenty of time to develop.
If he has a good off season he may well play plenty of NRL.

Like most 20 yo kids he has plenty to learn.

Both DCE and Reynolds, the 2 young halves who have killed it from the get go, both did it as 22 year olds. Perhaps Miller will be the same.

I'd say he will be playing a fair bit of NSW Cup next year, but I'm glad we kept him.

Personally, I'd put him into the #9 in NSW Cup for half a year to strengthen up his defence, and see if he can control the game from Dummy-Half. Having a kid who seems to have 'plenty of time' while on the field would be a great back-up option, but also offer great versatility on the Bench.

Don't mind that idea at all actually, I think he's a 7 but playing him in the 9 would improve his defence and decision-making. Plus he would have to lead from the front

If he's a halfback, then leave him there. You all say he has a lot to learn, then leave him in his position and let him learn it.

Everyone bags sheens for playing guys out of position.

Surley we cant have a specialist 1/2\. Not at least while Benji wants to be the star 7\. Could probably get a run at prop though.

Benji doesn't like playing 7,he stated in his column last week he hopes to play 6 again next year as he didn't handle 7,we all knew this,it was only our stubborn coach who didn't.

Yeah stick him in the 9 jersey for the State Cup team … That'll do the confidence of an aspiring NRL halfback the world of good. ...............................................................NOT!

He played a bit of junior reps for the Roosters at centre ... Perhaps if he bulked up a bit over Christmas (more cake, pudding and trifle for Milky) he could be the next Ian Naden .......... Probably ...........................NOT!

Nah, leave him at 7 ... splash out and buy him the box set of JT DVDS, give him Sterlos phone number and sprinkle him with magical Holman dust.

Patience people, patience.

A while back during a TV interview Farah was quick off the mark to say that Miller would be with 'us' next season. Almost like there was a plan…

I hope so!

either give the poor kid some nsw cup time or first grade as a 1/2 back in first and whatever they do let him play as 1 not try and hide him in attack or defence you'll soon no whether he will cut the grade. i honestly thought they would have stuck with him in the injury crisis but instead well we all know

I am still of the opinion that Miller can be special.

I really hope you are right mate but from the few times I have seen him play im not real confident of this.
To me he just seems to drift in and out of games too much-even in the NYC. We already have too many players who do this IMO. We need consistancy in players' performances week after week.

He is only young though so in time may develop. 😛ray:

He's played 5 first grade games. Sironen hasn't played much more and I rate Miller over Sironen.

Really?????? Wow, I certainly don't. Sirro has proven he is up to NRL standard IMO, Miller hasn't.
IMO Sirro will be a very much better player than Miller in the years to come. Time will tell I suppose

Sironen is definatly better then Miller at this stage. Miller is only however 20 and all the halfbacks people keep mentioning - Cherry Evans, Reynolds, Sezer were all Millers age next year when they played thier first game of FG which puts him 5 games ahead of them at the same stage of thier careers (and people accuse sheens o fnot giving him a go when in fact he has had more of a go then the last 2 rookies of the year at the same age in the same position)

I don't think he has had a proper chance yet. Always played out of proper position/made to stay out of the way.

Didn't someone post on here earlier in the year saying that Sheens had a problem with Miller's ego?? (Pot calling the kettle black).
Maybe Tim feels that the biggest ego in the club should be his own? Then again he did put up with Ricky Stuart at the Raiders for years and ego's don't come much bigger than Sticky's!

Miller himself needs to settle down….if there is 1 premier league side he should be at 7\. He just isn't there yet and actually agree with Sheens here . If all goes well probable more NRL mid season after a good stint with the big boys a huge talent IMO just have to be patient!

All I've seen from sironen so far is his name on the team sheet on tuesday. I have a feeling he's Mitchell Pearce v2.0

but we'll see.
