It interests me that more fans from other clubs aren't chasing a result on this. Surely, casting aside their club biases, they can see the importance of following up on this just for the sake of keeping the NRL honest. Or is it, head in the sand, lucky it didn't happen to us, yet.
100 % agree, we don’t need them,
I will never help them in return.

Abdo on TV basically saying if you change the result of a game then it is no good for junior league.
Can someone please let him know that the NRL has highly paid referees and linesmen plus video refs sitting on the best technology money can buy?
Also that losing games (especially if a team were to miss out on semis) has a substantial financial aspect as well.

And of course the punter who has been robbed of his winning . They look silly every day of the week. On field ref stuffs up that’s life, but the guy in the bunker, different matter

It is so plain and simple. Well done. Corruption of the highest order.
If you look closely at the footage at the bit that says ‘the diver identifies his target’ you can see Feldt looks away from the ball towards Kepaoa before looking back at the ball. Unfortunately for us when it went to the video ref, the tv cameras front on shot missed this. Feldt only came into camera when he was looking back at the ball.

I do not understand what abdos statement bears any relivence to junior league. We are talking about so called professionals adjudicating a professional sport and being paid something like 5k for doing it. They simply are trying to back there way out of a shit fight with lame excuses.

I agree I think all fans should be interested and encouraging of the Tigers push here. I don’t think the result will change but I do think this push can bring about a real review of what is wrong with the current set up. It’s the first time I can recall someone has really gone after the NRL after one of these errors. If out of this we get some of the following I think it benefits everyone.

1. Bunker/coach to only communicate with referee when called upon or for serious incident. You have a ref and two touch judges who can communicate all game.
2. Captain’s challenge scrapped
3. Bunker only used for scoring plays and foul play that results in sin bin or send off. If minor head contact is missed play on.
4. Referees to be accountable for their decisions for more than one week. A larger pool of top grade refs required so people can move up and down.
5. Mr. Annesley steps down from his role and someone who is truthful and doesn’t always try and cover up comes in. His explanations each week are embarrassing.
6. Games are refereed even each week. No more of this x player keeps trying this watch it or games refereed based on ladder position.

Alternative - Tigers guaranteed to get every 50/50 in seasons 2023 and 2024 and have a free passage to the finals.

Wonder if he also realises that breaking a player’s leg in a game and not sending the offender off or even to the bin, is a bad look.

I am glad that the club is not backing down & are pursuing the matter.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I can’t help but wonder about the many past referee howlers that we have been the victims of, had we made some noise & just accepted the fine for doing so, would we have ever ended up in this fiasco?
Maybe this is finally the line in the sand where we say enough & start to stand up for ourselves, even if we get fined.

Just looked up the NRL book on spin doctoring and the ref and bunker were correct once again. Because the bone was not hanging out of the leg and the WT's could not produce an X-ray, then the correct decision was to penalise Hastings for milking. Things then got a little confusing for the officials when Hastings started blowing a short green whistle. Ultimately, because most injuries are not broken legs the captain's challenge clearly works.

I see Klein this week has the Sharks Dragons gig so is that it !
Stood down 1 match for robbing tigers 2 points and potentially changing make up of top 4 . Maybe if it was 2 rounds it would be like nrl saying
Yeah it was really bad .Which it was !

As it would appear one week is deemed the punishment to fit all klangers by the referees, any longer punishment would be admitting that Klein made a absolute howler of howler and even possibly a element of misconduct . The NRL want this to be seen as a minor case of misjudgment or human error and the matter to blow away after the meeting today.

The NRL is in no better place since shifty Greenberg was shown the door, still on the nose

What makes this one different to all the other errors that actually cost a team the win was that previous ones were decisions incorrectly made DURING the game but this time if all had happened correctly the game was OVER and I think by not giving the tigers the win that creates a new precedent by altering a result AFTER the game albeit only 1 or 2 minutes after the game but still after the game
Now most believe that there is no way that the NRL will give the tigers 2 points because that will create a precedent by altering a result weeks after the game . However a good lawyer should be able to argue that sticking to the result when the whistle blew at the completion of the tackle at the 80 min mark with zero seconds left on the clock is the result that is not the altered one and the result that doesn't create a precedent

For Lee to have taken the matter this far I would imagine he has a strong case in our favour. I hope he calls the bluff and grants V'landys an audience in court. It really does come down to the principle; you can't just bend over and take it from people like him.

Things then got a little confusing for the officials when Hastings started blowing a short green whistle.

When Hastings was blowing the short green whistle was this to indicate that this was full time for his involvement in the game, if so, then why did he not wave his arms across his body?

It is quite obvious, even though not written in the rule book that he should have been penalized there and then and fortunately has been rubbed out for the remainder of the season for milking and a blatant breach of the rules.
