potter said from day dot that he would pick players on form but has not dropped 1 player on poor form chris lawrence is in career worst form ashford cant hold onto a ball if his life depened on it and adam blair is adam blair.

Maybe potter just feels there are no other centre's in the squad that are a) better than rowdy &/or b) ready for FG.

Might be time to give someone a go tho.

If Utai is injured, why was he a starting player in NSW Cup last game they played?

Im not saying he is im saying i thought he was.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusion until AT THE VERY LEAST the team is announced to play the Broncos. Even then as others have said Potter has already dropped 2 players. He's had 6 games, you can't expect him to drop people left right and centre. We have one centre in NSW Cup ATM who has potential to replace ONE centre.
Maybe Potter has faith Rowdy needs to just play a string of games to play into form (lets face it I think 6 games is a lot of games in a row for him since 2010) maybe he will be dropped, maybe Potter told him he needs to aim up or be dropped. Time will tell, be patient.

Lawrence may not be breaking games apart like he used to but he's still as good a centre as most of the centres running around. He needs to adapt his game to his current ability level and that will take time. He should put on weight and move to the backrow I think. Ask Luke Lewis for advice.

As for dropping players, Utai and Miller were both dropped.

Look in terms of his attributes, Lawrence isn't as bad as made out to be. So his pace is not what it was at one point but i'm yet to see him in open space to confirm this. Defensively it doesn't count. More often than not the defender will lose the foot race bar exceptions like Koro, Slater and Brett Stewart back in his day. Where he has been admittedly poor has been defence. This doesn't have so much to do with the injury I believe. For what ever reason his confidence is down and he's second guessing himself. Perhaps his communication may need to improve too? IMO he doesn't need to be dropped just yet. Another stinker like yesterday and Potter will have a right to question him. He's still contributing but right now he's in rough place and not a lot is going right.

I have no problem with the job Potter has done so far.

As a new coach to a team that has not performed the previous year I think he's giving all players a chance to show what they have and has probably given the players who have performed in previous years first bite of the cherry.

But Potter is no fool. I can see some real changes coming in the next few months if the Tigers are not performing. I think Tedescoe will take the fullback spot away from Moltz because Moltz is just not consistent enough and Teddy is a star in the making. Potter has already cut Utai and Miller for non performance although in Miller case I think he was a little hard done by.

The Tigers are a team in transition but I think by half way in the comp we will see some real improvement.

Robbie has been our rock, I like what I've seen from Bodene Thompson, young Buchannan and some of the other forwards getting their first taste of NRL.

IMO the players who need to be helping Robbie and have disappointed so far are Moltz , Lawrence , Benji…these guys should be alot more involved than they are...sometimes I feel they are just in 2nd gear. They need to do better if we are going to win more games.

Also Murdoch Masilla needs to catch the ball and for his size should be running through brick walls....he could be anything if he decides to become more serious about his footy.

My advice to Potter is simple. If players dont put in...cut them and give others a go, regardless of their past glories.

There's a lot of young talent at the club so I think the future is bright, but the coach needs to be brave and bold.

Just on the topic of pace, I thought my eyes were deceiving me on the weekend but Ayshford seemed to show some career-best pace when he made that break late in the game against the Dragons. He broke into a pretty nice stride. I wonder if he's actually picked up a yard or whether other players were just tired late in the game. He isn't exactly lightning fast off the mark I'll give you that.

yeh he has to go into this season without any percieved ideas from last season.

everyone gets a clean state.. that includes people like lawrence, ayshford, blair etc. who all retained their spots in the 17 this year. 6 games in… a bye coming up, injuries etc. this will be the time for him to see the players who he wants to build a team around.

I thought Tedesco and Utai had a catching contest for the spot. Teddy won. Can't get fairer then that. Utai dropped.

Miller went ok but i think we looked better with Anasta.

The real test is Lawrence. Teams have been targeting him him all year and even Sandow got on the outside of him to get one back. He was worth nearly 18 points overall this week.

Reddy,Simona or Brien should get a go next week imo. Reddy to centre and Koro back. Preys!

Need to work on your spelling dude. You are right about lawrence though, and potter did drop utai and miller as already stated.

I think Potter has more integrity than you have, and he can spell. You're not part of the team discussions, the injuries we don't hear about or any part of the selection process. I am already seeing a Tigers side that are prepared to have a dig, ;which is something I've not seen in many years. And Potter has not had a full strength team to choose form all year. Who know what may have happened if they were all available. No miracles this year, but I think we will be a lot happier in 2014.

His (or her) spelling isn't great but there are probably worse spellers on this forum. I often wonder about why posters use all lower case and no punctuation marks. Is it a result of texting? Whatever the reason, it makes for difficult reading.

mate the only time they have had a dig is the first half of the eels game and 60 mins of the melbourne game that is not enough.
