Is The Club Respected?

That is 40% of the starting 13. Significant enough...

Add 36% possession, 5 six agains late in the count. 4 penalties to 1 all game against a full strength Panthers team and you can see why the score blew out.

We were totally gassed all game. Is 40 to 12 any different to 68 nil in the modern game? Outclassed for sure...we had many out, but the way we got murdered by the new rules added the extras.

We would have taken 6 wins with 12 games remaining before a ball was kicked this season, so I'll wait until we have our troops back before slagging the team.

I doubt we make the 8 this year, but we give ourselves a shot if we can manage 50% win rate from here.
Quite a substantial difference actually if you know how to do math.

Odds probably against us at this stage. Next 2 weeks are huge and might well be decisive. 2 good wins at home and this game is a distant memory into a decent run home with Doueihi, May and then Sam Fainu and Twal back on board if its coming to the wire.

Need some luck but we are a chance. Api out next week is a real kick in the guts
lol a distant memory.
This type of thinking is exactly why Wests Tigers are not respected in RL circles.

Brother, penrith not even last week beat the 2nd placed Warriors without Cleary, Yeo and Bizza. They certainly didn’t get pumped by almost 70. It’s the same every year for us, the only common denominator is HBG.
Your brain must be exploding that we beat Dogs last week and Dogs beat Penrith...

Its obviously a turn of phrase. Not meant to be taken literally. 2 wins off the back of a flogging like that would have the club lookinh forward towards the finals, rather than stewing on that embarassment.

No one who witnessed that rubbish will be able to delete it from their memory unfortunately.

With regards to TDM, I think you need to put yourself in his shoes. If you were treated the way he was treated at the roosters, you'd only show loyalty to the coach too. I think his honesty is refreshing, it's better then them saying shit and not meaning it.
As a human being, I relate to him. He is nothing but a number to the wests tigers club. If I wasnt so emotionally attached, I would have walked away myself in December 2025. If I hadnt of already renewed my memberships, I would have let them lapse.

But as a fan who is still here after decades, his comments about loyalty are the last thing I wanted to hear from one of our marquee signings. The timing couldnt have been worse either, not only did he say he had no loyalty to the wests tigers, but he put shit on the ceo of the panthers the week of the game against the panthers!!!!

I have nothing against what TDM said. I actually dislike that Benji backed him, and didn't say something along the lines of I'm flattered he feels like that, but I want all my players to play for the club not me.

Benji said after the game that it looked like they weren’t trying. There is possibly some truth in that?
The only game they’ve been up for since the round 8 win against Raiders is the dogs. They must have been strongly motivated for that game?
Would love to know what demotivated the team? Has there been more board room calamity?
Wouldn’t be surprised regarding your last point. Would also align with the comments Terrell made about the club during the week.

Chances are he probably feels the same - the club shafted Benji, a club legend, who went on to play another 5 or 6 years at other clubs. A bloke that should have been a tiger for life.

Made the same point at least twice already this year - why are they putting 2 kids together with less than 10 games between them on the same side.
Even Skelton
- is hardly an experienced player.

It’s beyond stupid!!

I don’t like To’a but surely he’s better to have there than either Makasini or Tino - you can’t have both!!

Relying on Rookies gives us a reason to lose. We shouldn’t be in a position Squad wise where we have Makasini, Tino, Luke Craig, Saukuru in the top 30
- 5 Squad members at around 20 years old with barely 20 games between them.

The next rung above them is Herbert, To’a , Skelton and the likes - hardly something to bang the drums over…

It’s dumb, and these are the reason our depth is shot as soon as one bloke goes down.
Its not Depth though.

It's first grade standard.

I would gladly trade both To'a/Herbert for a NRL average center. A zak Leybutt, Sean Russell, etc.
Gladly.

Instead we have a reject pile!

I am guessing our best 5 backline is Turuva, Makasini, Bula, Taylan May, Skelton/Laulili

Were clearly lacking first grade quality.

A question I have that I think is similar…

Does any team , even the bottom feeders , ever go into a game against us and think they can’t beat us ?

I think we have issues around physicality and mental strength … if the opposition can keep it physical in the middle they probably eventually believe they will get on top and win …I thought things might have been changing the first 7 games but given the margins of recent losses I think that’s not the case anymore
My dad is personal friends with one of the broncos origin players and the sentiment about going into a game is true, he told my dad the whole squad was certain they would win even with their injuries like we were a second rate side and wanted to turn up and beat us

Yes, the club is respected. How do I know? Because I've met men - big strong men, who came to me with tears in their eyes, telling me "thank you Alex Seyfarth for saving rugby league."

I cant say with any degree of expertise whether the problem is our culture , what I do know that every round we play it almost a a 50/50 guess whether we come away with the chocolates , and it’s been happening like this I believe since at least 2012 . From what I did observe from 2004-2012 was the nucleus of our squad appeared to want to bleed for the club ,what changed after that and purely from my observation has been the reliance on buying marquee signings from other clubs in the hope they could lead the team successes which hasn’t happened. I am pretty sure we can never approach a game saying we got this , but I am sure in 90% of games the opposition are quietly confident of this. What I also want to know why is all the fluff pieces and training we do in the pre season all seem to disappear at least 10-12 rounds in. Barring injuries what causes the alarming drop offs. If the players are loyal to the coach then why does this occur. To me it’s not a culture thing it’s a resilience thing.
