Is the tide turning?

You're all entitled to an opinion but unless we come dead last Sheens isn't going anywhere. Poll will just show how little faith people have

I thought more were changing their opinion on Sheens…seems its true.
When more and more people think the same way, its generally on the money.

Yeah look at Nazi Germany….....they were bang on.

Yeah - they got it right then those Germans.

A couple of wins on the trot and watch the tide turn.

Exactly…...

Alright I'll be serious now just for you GNR because I respect you

I get angry at times with Sheens selections , but at the moment we are sitting on 3 straight no matter how bad we are playing or no matter how bad the opposition is playing Even if we do lose we are without Tedesco,Ellis, Farah and Rhino

Take the same players from the Storm you would take out Sika Manu ,Cameron Smith Billy Slater and Hoffman

They wouldn't be functioning too well either

I will base my judgement on where we finish after it is all said and done

If we miss the Top 8 though I think Sheens and Humphrey's may need to sit down and have a long , long chat about the direction of our great club

x 2.

Yes, I'll go along with that.
I don't think they will be having that chat though HT.

If they don't Humphrey's isn't doing his job and he needs the board to kick his rump from here to Kingdom come or until his nose bleeds

Without going on a huge rant … he's responsible for week-to-week team selections which have been shocking this year. As long as he keeps using players out of position and naming weak benches, he can go jump as far as I care.

As A fan I love the fact he is one of few coaches who teaches teams to play football and not to defend football
And he is very good at it too… Although what lets him down is being loyal to players who have done the job for him before and aren't in form

If sheensy managed to get his team selections right then IMO he is the best coach in the game( not for the fact we win but for the fact that he keeps fans coming back )

Nothing against Tim but after 11 seasons I just think its time for some fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

agreed. no disrespect to that dude, but time for some changes even if we win a premiership.
we have an amazing roster with amazing talent, they need to get fresher ideas and add new dimenstions to their game.

I've noticed since the team announcement yesterday a lot of people who aren't anti-Sheens realy getting stuck in to him about the line-up. Its almost like this was the final straw with some people and they are starting to see the light

We swap coaches mid season, we can just kiss the rest of the year goodbye instantly. From the 1st half of round 1 we lost our first choice fullback, and things just spiralled from there.

I yell and whinge at team selections and issues too just like everyone else, as a fan I see obvious things that I think should be done and wonder why Tim can't see it too. There are things we just don't know about, like players carrying injuries or personal issues, players not putting in or having bad attitudes.

As much as we think we know the game, Sheens like all top coaches are operating on a totally different level in terms of individual players, combinations, gameplans etc.

3 months ago Sheens had us with two top 4 finishes and 2012 had a genuine feel of optimism about it. I still think we will come through this and be a force.

The other day I looked at posts I made in 2009 on another forum about Tigers. I was defending our recruitment/coaching against some pretty harsh criticisms. People said we were on a road to nowhere and up shit creek, we needed to dump Sheens and our board because our future looked bad. But look at 2010/11.

I am happy to support Sheens for this year, and barring any huge turn of events, I will support him till the end of his contract.

Have I gone back in time?????

This happens EVERY. GOD DAMN. YEAR. Mid season, we hate Sheens. Until we become favorites for the Premiership and lose deep into the finals.

As long as the pattern of us playing average early-mid season and then playing awesome late season continues, I can't see why everyone here will continue to hate him.

I dont always agree with with his team selections but then again i dont know what is going on @ Camp Concord & know all the injuries, but what i do know i will continue to supoort the team & that means the coaches & management as well.

so after running top 4 back to back seasons, recent form this year is 3 consecutive victories and sitting mid field and people want to sack him. Hope all of you have more generous stake holders in your jobs.

I reckon Sheens is excellent

Fair point. If we didn't sack him after 2008 or 2009, there is hardly ground to sack him now.

I think Sheens is a good coach. My only concern is the possibility of complacency amongst the players with their attitude towards him. Do they fear he will drop them to reserve grade or do they feel they will always play first grade regardless of performance?

His bench selections and insistence on playing a halfback at 5/8th and shutting him out of the game, whilst ruining the world's best 5/8th by playing him at halfback really grinds my gears.

There's not much better out there and sacking him mid year gives the team an authority to not perform for the rest of the year under the guise of rebuilding.

In saying that, I know we are all only armchair experts but that team he named for this weekend is just rubbish. 3 key starting players playing out of position, a specialst hooker on the bench and only one second rower, prop and outside back on the bench.

I am firmly against mid-season sackings.

If we don't make the semi-finals with this side he HAS to go. No ifs, no buts.

Hard to see us not making the semis - but you're right.
We have (supposedly) a stronger team than the one that's run top 4 the last 2 years and started favourites to win this year.
If,for whatever reason,we do fail to make the semis Sheens should fall on his sword.
IMO if we don't make the semis it will be on the back of his consistently poor team selections (as CB stated)

Its not just about playing average, its the idiotic team selections. If we were losing with players playing in the right positions and with a normal bench with no winger, i'm not saying i wouldn't complain, but it would be one less black mark to Sheens name for mine
