Is there a better feeling?

I gotta say all the Raiders fans around me were pretty good sports. They were gutted of course; most were stoked about how good the crowd was and how much atmosphere was at the game.

They all shaked our hands as we walked out and wished the team good luck. Nobody is going to jump on the Dragons bandwagon!

ill agree, of course there was usual ref's costing them a game comment.. but every fan of every team during the game never really think a penalty is fair lol.

they weren't as rough as i had heard.

An even better feeling is knowing they said on their forum "the bogans are coming" and still winning…..
As we know Canberra is such a hub of ultra cool uni students and public servants with plenty of things to do and see......

They were disgraceful the other night.

I have been to 25+ games at Canberra Stadium and I have NEVER seen as many drunk fans as Friday night.

It seemed every 2nd person was making a goose of themselves.

I ran into the Raiders' media man (who was my "boss" in 06) the next morning and he said it like it was. The better team won, and congrats. It'd be nice if some others could do the same, instead of swearing, sticking up certain fingers and trying to tackle/fight people with different coloured jerseys on.

….than leaving Canberra stadium when you are out numbered 7 to 1 and being the victor?

Stick that fair up ya raiders supporters. I went well over the top tonight and enjoyed it!

were you sitting in bay 26 Stryker?

no we were in 66

Yeah might be a bit off there VX255, there didnt seem to be too many of us there.

There was a very vocal group of Tigers supporters near me in Bay 26 thought you might have been one of them, they were great with their cheering etc

I'm wondering where all these raiders fans are during the year? They never even get close to 20000 fans a game, and all of a sudden there's one crunch match and they come out like die-hards. I call it "Sydney Swans Syndrome"…..

was havin a few beers after the game at a pub in the city centre and a guy in tigers jersey came up to me saying he lives in canberra but is a tigers supporter and that it has been the biggest bandwagon ever. something like 'even if it was baseball they'd be jumping on'

yeah, i have a new found respect for the gronks of canberra. they were all out the other night. i thought souths and parra were bad but these guys were feral. right up there and ever so gracious in defeat. 'bogans are coming'? fair dinkum, look in the mirror.

a few were ok about it but most were just spewing shit at me all night. just smiled, pint in hand and said 'cheers champ'

I wasn't there on the weekend but I've always copped that at Bruce Stadium, 'you are a westie, you are a westie' etc.

It's like… dudes... you live in _Canberra_?

Truth is a lot of them are just uni students who would have no interest in league if they weren't studying in Canberra where there's bugger all else to do. That's why they feel it's OK to bag people for being westies even though they live in Canberra!
