Woodsy has definitely excelled in 1st grade & is the form prop in the comp, however he hasn't really made an impact at origin yet. I think his style struggles with the defensive line speed & aggression at origin level (it hurt to type that). He struggled to get past the advantage line last year in origin whereas he has always pushes through in 1st grade. Different intensity level I guess.

However in saying that he has taken his game to a new level this year consistently making 200+ metres per game so I'm really looking forward to seeing how he performs for the blues. If he can carry his form/impact to origin level I reckon he'll really go down as one of the greats.

This is a pretty bad thread Happy.

He's in no doubt of being picked. He struggled in his first couple of SOO games, but he more than held his own last year, and he's continued his good form this year.

On a side note, I agree with Ink's sentiments on Woods. He needs a haircut, and I'd like to see him get rid of this smiling-smartarse-attutude

I have been saying the same thing for a few years about Woods lack of speed and the increased line speed /lack of a ten metres in SOO

Woodsy at the moment is the best prop in the game because he gets that extra yard of momentum because of the better control of the 10 metres of the slight decrease in line speed

Still love ya Woodsy and if you do get picked for NSW hope you prove me wrong and are NSW's best in a losing series Qld sweep

The main reason he is less effective in SOO is because the referees are too relaxed on letting the defence up early. Game two last year was particularly bad… the defensive lines were 2 metres off the line before the dummy half had even touched the ball!
