So Folau was photographed having lunch with Todd Greenberg yesterday at NRL Headquarters in Moore Park. he must be interested in coming back, perhaps after the RWC.

I know it sounds like a fantasy but God he would be great in a Tigers jersey, he is exactly what we need to fix our backline, especially after offloading Koroibete and Naiyaravoro.
Just look at our roster, I'm sure we have plenty of cap room. Maybe this is why we have been offloading players?

There would also be a salary cap concession as he would be considered a marquee player (has this officially come in yet?).

I'm still waiting for a big name signing we are putting Benji Marshall's money towards.
Surely we didn't give our young guys that big a contract upgrade.

It wouldn't surprise me if that were the case Sabre !

There is just no way that Broncos, Roosters, Bulldogs, Souths, Melbourne, Manly could possibly have enough cap space to accommodate a marquee signing like Folau.

We HAVE to get a marquee back like Folau. Would be perfect.

Yeah this is the interesting thing. There are no teams left that would have the cap space to accommodate him.
The only possible teams with cap space:

Eels, Raiders, Sharks, Dragons, Knights and Wests Tigers.

Maybe the Warriors or Titans but that is it.

I really don't think that he would leave Sydney either. So realistically it would be Eels or WT. I doubt he is even coming back to NRL but hey….we all love to dream

2.5 million! Can the NRL or ARU compete with that? I think Izzy likes a challenge. I don't think he'd just be happy playing European rugby but if he would still eligible for the Olympics then maybe a heap of cash and an Olympic medal would be tempting.

And people forget that Special K will probably be coming back to the NRL also in the near future

Knowing our luck we have signed Kurtley Beale

The one bloke who WON'T crack it in the NRL

**There would also be a salary cap concession as he would be considered a marquee player (has this officially come in yet?)**.

no salary cap concession.

nrl might give him 100k or 200k, but it gives us no advantage over any other club. it's similar to a TPA, except far more guarunteed to be independent of which club a player signs for.

and yes, i think it has come in.

No player currently playing in a wallabies team has switched to league since Michael Oconnor & that was way back when Rugby was still an amateur code . I recall him saying it was purely for the $ .

People who think NRL is a bigger or better game than RU need to get out more . Just because you dont like it doesn't make it smaller or lesser .

The reality is that 2 of the biggest names in the NRL are going the other way this season .

Folau , Beale or anyone else that gets linked to league is just trying to up their price in Union . Otherwise they just take what the ARU gives them .

they have plenty of money for their elite players

no top line player has left their code in 30 years

fringe players sure , sacked players definitely

stars … won't happen , ever .

Talk about delusion…..
The ARU is in such a bad state atm in comparison to the NRL it isn't funny.... Same for the NZRU.
Each year they lose millions and the new TV deal they sign will be verging on laughable.
As for Falou - Not interested. We have those positions covered.
And for Beale - Hell play 1st grade but as a fullback will be behind 7 or 8 other fullbacks in the game.
The ARU spends all of its money on a few marquee players (usually from league) and pays them well. The rest get f all and would struggle to play 1sts in the NRL anyway.
The list of disgraceful 1st grade players or State Cup players that have gone on to play for the mustard disgrace over the last 10-12 years is truly laughable.
