Israel Folau

seriously mods?

Steve Roach is more chance of playing for the Wests Tigers than Folau.

Izzy is going no where, he will play out is AFL contract.

I find it amusing how much league fans in general bag other sports, especially the likes of gus, fatty, MG and many other TV "experts", I enjoy AFL, Rugby and most sports and wonder why they close their minds to the good things other sports do

I agree Goose, but having spent a fair bit of time in Melbourne for work the way AFL supporters tear into league…I think they are just as bad. And it's almost impossible to watch the game even down there!

He is going to want big bucks to join any club (400K +) You can't spend 400 k on a winger for starters Especially seeing we don't have a half who has the ability to kick to his strengths which is well positioned bombs .

I reckon the NRL would love to have him back.

I agree, as it will show his AFL experiment was a failure.
I dont think he'll be going anywhere until at least we see how he goes in the AFL competition next year.
If he struggles and isnt good enough to make the GWS team then I think he'll be back as what's the point in the AFL paying him big bucks to play 2nds with no publicity gained by playing 2nds.

He won't be playing 2nds, regardless of if he is crap or not. AFL has poured too much money into him the they won't allow him to play anything other than top grade games!

I've been to a number of Swans games to support them as I take a family member who follows them but I can't get the same level of enjoyment out of watching AFL as NRL. Similarly I have been to Rugby games but again don't enjoy watching anywhere near as much as NRL. Like you Goose I like watching all sports but find NRL by far the more entertaining and enjoyable to watch as a game.

Ditto - I think it depends on where your heart is. You support the Tigers in league, but do you support any particular team in these other codes in the same way you support the Tigers? I followed Carlton in the AFL for several years because I was married to a Victorian, who supported them. I did get into it and enjoyed watching the games, but it was never quite the same as watching rugby league because my support for the then Magpies, now Wests TIgers, came from a deeper level - if that makes sense?

Yes, makes good sense Flippedy plus as much as I go to as many NRL games as I can live, it is also a good game to watch on TV where as AFL is easier to follow live rather than TV where it loses a bit.

Yeah I was like that as a kid First AFL game I ever saw was 1977 Gf (not the replay) West supporter magpies > Collingwood First EPL game 1980 FA cup West Ham v Ipswich Hard one lived in Ipswich supported Wests in Brisbane as well as Sydney so they won out .

Im the same as you guys, i love league more than the other games, i just get annoyed with the anti other sport mentality from the league "experts" annoy me…..Id love them to acknowledge the best parts from other sports and learn from them.
I was always a fan of Karmichael and Izzy, so I want them to do well, i dont get why league fans want them to fail.

Unless we sign him to play fullback, not worth it…

get with the times … Dugan to fullback , Folau to the wing ... WTs to last for going over the salary cap.

Well done Izzy Folau, for putting AFL in its place out here in "Greater" West Sydney.
