It is over for Taylor

Big NO to Cleary don't think he's right for this club, likewise with Hasler if he was available.

I'd go for Toovey, I like him as a coach, got a great footy mind and doesn't tolerate s*** I like his style. Shows a lot of passion…. something he can teach his players.

I'd also look at Payten and maybe even bring back Sheens lol

Cleary took Warriors and Panthers to good things with average rosters.

Hasler is a premiership winning coach albeit with good sides.

Toovey is ok.

Maguire was given an open cheque book to win his comp.

Any of the four will do me.

I live in Canberra and went to Campbelltown last week and then to today's game at GIO Stadium. This team does not look interested. Call it a conspiracy theory, but I believe the team may not be interested in playing until they get what I believe they are looking for a new coach. I believe Tod Payten may be the person they are looking for. At Campbelltown last week, my wife and I attended the post-match Members function and of all the players, only one shook JT's hand and said goodbye once the function was over. Aaron Woods. Sorry, but I believe this says it all!!!Time for the change, before we lose all our players.

Yes it is over no two ways about it. How can club management not react with a very early coach sacking and replacement with an interim/permanent coach who can inspire his players?

Hope you are right, we sack the coach now, we can salvage the season

851, Your hatred for Taylor is obvious and you have admitted to it.

However, Im not going to have a shot at you, because you are probably right - because his days are numbered. Im not sure if he can come back from this. Regardless, I think he hasn't had a fair go and the players have let him down big time.

So, a few questions for you.

Who is your new coach and how much are you paying him?
Which other players are getting punted with him?
How much (if anything) are you offering Brooks, Moses, Tedesco & Woods?

I don't need convincing, the easily pleased supporters and idiots running the show need to stop buying his spin, I never bought it but plenty did.

Taylor has some good spin but the simple fact is that the team has probably gone backwards under his tenure. Hopefully this game means that we start looking for a replacement.

The team is so mentally weak its not funny. I would strip the captaincy off Woods, as its not the coach talking to them after each try to inspire some ticker and pride.

Does Woods even understand that offloading the ball is allowed? He never does and has the opportunity.
Shave his head and that beard and get to work that darn hippy.

to be fair I dont think Woods understands the role of a prop fullstop. He is a supercoach superstar, but if you were to isolate the input of Woods and his effect on flow, you quickly realise he is a liability of sorts, and extremely inefective.

I have supported Taylor, albeit sceptical. Not anymore. He lost me big time today with his selecrions. And some of the things we were doing we looked uncoached. What happened to the sweeping backline plays for Tedesco from last year? Have we done one this season? Seems like Teddy has to inject himself and make things happen, nothing created for him at all.

Moses charges in like Brooks did las week, was he taking the piss out of us or did that mistake by Brooks not get addressed during the week?

Rapana's first try there were so many childish mistakes i seriously wonder if we are coached at all. Suli gets caught well in field so they attack his side. When they go there Grant is outside Lawrence. Why was the slower Grant outside Lawrence defending our line? These things shouldn't be happening. Naqaima makes the same mistake every week, he comes in on Moses' man leaving Nofo stranded, has this been addressed by Taylor? If so, then drop Kev for making the same mistake over and over.

Taylor has to go now. The club needs a massive shake up. Only 2 off contract i consider must keeps areTeddy and Nofo.

Chris Lawrence cant catch a ball, its really sad.

Yes we need a new coach, but if you want a winning team we need at least two quality centres, two quality back rowers, one prop and plenty of depth because a new coach with our roster has no chance, I would say we now probably have the most average roster in the NRL

Cleary is a decent coach, but I don't think his qualities would suit with us…. bit of a quiet coach. I'd much prefer a Hasler or Toovey who show passion with the way they communicate ecspecially for young players who are maturing. Hasler gameplay wouldn't suit our squad at all, the way dogs play is very bland and he relys heavy on his pack.

Toovey would be my choice and if Mcquire was avaible I wouldn't mind him as well. Both Toovey and Mcquire would be a yes.... Hasler - no.... Cleary - maybe.

Payten hasn't coached at NRL standard as a head coach yet.... we need to give this job to someone with experience.

We can get a coach for similar or less than JT like Brennan or Payten, or we offer Cleary a modest amount to take over now, with an upgrade depending on
Performance.
Cleary would take that and back himself, that eould be win win in my opinion. If he goes good then ye ha, if not you have lost not much.
Players to go in my opinion are Brooks, Rankin, Kev, Lovett, Ava, Grant, Edwards, Ballin, Milone.
I would also try get rid of contracted players Rowdy, Aloai, Sue, and would not be to disappointed if Woods and Moses left.

Taylor has to go the team has given up on him. Sadly they did this to Sheens and Potter. No Robbie to blame this time. It was a disgraceful performance again going through the motions until Raiders flopped it out and gave it to us. They don't want physical confrontation which Is basically the team playing for their teammates and their coach. Our roster has some glaring holes centre and back row but JT is not getting the best out of them.

Well it certainly looks like these players want no part of Taylor, today I was not expecting a win but the performance and application of the players says it all to me .
The sooner the club moves the better over 2 seasons working with the same players and the defence and attitude has not changed ..Taylor has had long enough ..over 2 years and no improvement the selection of Lovett alone was pathetic thanks for your services Taylor .

It's not so much over for Taylor as it is for the team. We don't have the cattle, full stop. Based on our current squad, no coach in the world could have got us near Canberra today.

The only thing I don't under stand about Taylor is how heavily he invested in youth this year . I was looking at the top squad and scratching my head thinking Taylor crazy relying on these guys. Sure the cap is better next year but surely he could off loaded some young people and got some experience in.

I can't believe some of the players that get tossed up week in week out. Edwards has nothing, Kev is hopeless, Jury is out on Chee Kam.

The fact that we went there with no front rowers on the bench was suicide, and the decision to replace most the big men at the same time complete stupidity.

Not sure the money is there.
1.We have to pay out Taylor.
2\. The reason he is here is because we had no money to start with.
3\. No way known Cleary is coming for 'modest money'. To be honest, with this bunch of grunts, i wouldnt either unless you were paying me overs. Dont get what people see in Toovey either, but regardless, he aint cheap either.
4\. We trade Taylor (some claim as a second rate coach) with an unknown coach who comes with their own problems.

Why would any half coach with any sense of credibility want to come here?

I think thats why the sack the coach line is not that easy. Its more a business decision.

Until the Fab 4 or whatever they want to call themselves start performing, then why would you?

Even Tedesco, as musch as I love him, needs to learn to pass the ball ocassionally. Getting rapidly sick of his catch, run sideways, pull up, dart back, get smashed every time. Its like he thinks he is the only player that can do something and so every time he gets it, he has to score right now!

If we recover anything this season, it wont be for weeks yet. As others have said, no coach could organise this mob. Its the price we are paying for years of neglect and having numpties run the club for years and years.

He came in preaching a lot.

Hs supporters will tell you players are dogging it. Last year they blamed Robbie.

I know our roster is average and they need to do better but JT needs to take responsibility with the players for 2 insipid efforts and that lame duck effort in the last 4 weeks of last season. The team is getting worse under him not better.

Taylor is a below average coach. You get what you pay for I suppose.

The coach aside Eddie, surely you aint suggesting the players are putting in 100%? Even if the coaches plan was crap, and naybe it is, there is no way the players are excuting that plan with maximum effort, no way.

Not only have we been in the contest in both games the last two weeks for the first 30 minutes, we've been on top. Not even the harshest critics can deny that. It's still a two fold problem though. We're flat as a tack in attack. We have nothing. And the second issue is once we fail to cash in on our advantage and the opposition get theirchance, they take it and we turn to water. Even down to two tries in the 5 minutes before halftime. The similarity to last week was uncanny. Imagine if we had the heart the Titans had. Fingers crossed we sign McQueen.

Looks like JT is running on fumes, but I think the club won't make any rash decisions just yet. As I said in another thread, the first casualty has to be Naqaima. He's an embarrassment to the jersey. Worst defensive reader I have ever seen. Uncoachable.
