It is time for SHEENS to go.

**We deserve someone who is proven as successful in NRL**(and theres none available rite now),or someone who has been recently successful in either ESL,State Cup or U20s.
We dont want any proven losers who may be trading on past (and often undeserved)reputations
In my mind that leaves Gentle or Brown..the others are proven mediocrity.
One last thing Mr Humphreys…if u really have decided you wanna keep Sheens(aaaargh!)....whatever you do dont MATCH THE 4 YEAR TENURE offered by Penrith....
Match the $$pa if you have to,but dont let us get stuck long term with this modest(at best) talent called Sheens who has been here far too long already

You know both Steve Folkes and Ricky Stuart won premierships and are available.

Not commenting whether they're the right choice or not, just pointing out that there are coaches with proven success in the NRL who are available.

I dont want our club to be a guinea pig club for an "up and coming" coach. If Tim goes I want someone tried and tested.

Like who?
Ricky Stuart? No
Nathan Brown? No
Matt Elliott? No
Daniel Anderson? No
Jason Taylor? No

Leapin' Leo should also come under consideration. The bloke from BRET can be his offsider

Leo ??? Hell NO!

Folkes??? Possibly, I don't know.

If I were in Tim's shoes and seriously thinking about jumping ship, I'd be asking someone at Penrith for some sort of guarantee that his contract will be financially covered. Reports from the foot of the mountains is that they're in the red as well as Panthers too.

if sheens goes dont rush in tigers to appoint a replacement. offer gus 500k a season for four years. hell, gus loves benji, keefy, robbie and the players / culture at the tigers.

we need a coach that players respect and that players from other clubs want to be coached by. gould fits the mould perfectly.

c,mon humphries be daring and make gus gould an offer too good to refuse !!

Gould would never give up his cushy media job. He gets paid a packet-load to do something he loves with absolutely no pressure. Why in the hell would he want to coach for less money, and more stress?

I'd love him to coach us but it will never happen.

true ht, but there are those who love the challenge, constant involvement and media spotlight. who is to say gus will have a cushy media role when the tv rights are finally done and dusted.

I feel for the next coach to come in.

As it is the lunatics seem to run the asylum to a degree at WT. Too many players too comfortable with too much say in the team.

I can see us having to use one coach for cannon fodder after Sheens leaves to cut the dead wood and poor attitudes that may occur when real pressure is applied

Not time to go yet Coach.

Though Games like the Titans one wont be making the decision a hard one.

Might be a good time for a coach who isn't buddies with the senior players to step in.
Sometimes I wonder just how much influence they have … there have been some strange player and positional choices over the last few years.

I for one will be very sad to see Tim leave the club but it looks like thats whats going to happen. If Tim goes back to where it all started for him and sees out his career with Penrith then I wish him all the best for the future. He has taken the Wests Tigers from a team not respected by many to a credible force in the modern game. We now have respect from the Rugby League fraternity which was not there under Terry Lamb and Wayne Pearce.

Being a Wests Tigers coach is a bit different to being a coach at other clubs as you are dealing with the interests of two clubs (or 3 if you include Wests Tigers) instead of one. That can't be easy dealing with boards who have different interests. So I'm worried as to who we get as a replacement. If we get the wrong one, there is potential to lose all our good players to other clubs over a period of time. Lack of on field results then get the powers to be arguing amongst themselves and the walls will start tumbling down.

So whoever they choose as a replacement, they will need to choose carefully. Ricky Stuart/Nathan Brown I don't believe have the diplomacy skills needed to make a success of it which would leave Folkes and the inexperienced Gentle as the only other candidates.

I hope Harry and Stephen can conjure something to keep Tim at the club …... the alternatives are fraught with danger.

I reckon an announcement is imminent and wouldn't be surprised if Sheen's has coached a WT's team for the last time.

Folkes to take over immediately.

If he is to sign with Penrith i hope you are right…, i'd hate to see him around for the rest of the season, let Folks take charge.

Agree with Icon to let Folkes take over as soon as possible.

Folkes - How about a four man forward bench with no wasted backs.

My only concern is ow will the players react IF Sheens is leaving for the panthers.
Will they give it there all for the departing coach? or will there be to much distraction especially from Marshall to handle?

Personally i say good luck to him either way.I think most coaches around the NRL are good enough to win a premiership with the roster we have.If we cant win one in 2011,12 or 13 with this roster then we wont win one until 2020

Yep,I should have used the qualifier"recently successful" for NRL coaches too..I mean Daniel Anderson was successful too at some stage ,& Jason taylor,Niel Henry & mathew Elliot wld have been considered successful at different times, but all have blotted their copybook with subsequent & more recent coaching gigs.
Unlike Brown & Gentles who are coming off success.
Im a little more acceptable of Folkes cf other 1st grade coaches as firstly, the Board can see 1st hand his current contribution to WT & coaching potential,& secondly he was simply burnt out at Dogs & I can account for his demise to an extent.

I think he still does want to coach . He is just waiting for the right opportunity . You can see he still has the passion and the hunger to do it still . Whether it is the Tigers or someone else don't write it off

and imo thats why it should be folksie if sheens pulls the pin …...guys like brown , morgan , potter what would they offer the team ? brown has a team of superstars and started every year as favorites and never came away with the cash ... youll crucify any young bloke and thats why folksie is the man ...he wont take any crap full stop .....
