It is time to sack Tim 'The Fonz' Sheens

Im at the stage where any experienced 1st grade coach with a good recent track record will suffice…Im no longer fussy, particularly with the knowledge that Folkes is on standby as absolute worst case.
Expedite yr 2012 contract with Rusty Tim,& u mite get another 3 years or so until yr results yet again catch up with you...he's waiting on the line rite now, assuming he hasnt thrown it at someone..

You know what's funny…

In our 4 wins it was Oh how great it is to have Folkes on board....What a difference he is making blah blah blah

Was he on Holiday for the last 2 weeks or is all not happy at Camp Concord and Sheens is no longer on speaking terms with him....

As much as I'd like to heap the entire blame on Sheens and sack him now......sanity prevails and reality sinks in.....sacking a coach is NEVER CLEAN or SIMPLE......

I'm also sure his instructions this week was go out and drop the ball and play braindead for large portions of the game cause the PLAYERS he put on the field in the Wests Tigers jumper followed them to the letter.....Yet still we stayed with a team we just can't seem to beat....

BTW thanks Bug for yet another Tim Sheens thread.....you can never have too many.....

sheens was very complimentary of folkes in the post game last night, he said the reason we only got beat by 8 was because of folkes great conditioning and fitness and our ability to hang in there.

I said it at the SFS to the people I sit with before the first game of the year. 2010 has to be Sheens last year with the Tigers. I have nothing but respect for the man. He gave us a premiership. But for the betterment of the team and players he should go at the end of the year, at the latest. Earlier, if we have a poor start to the season.

I don't think it is good for a players development to only ever have one senior coach. They stop learning, become complacent, the team becomes predictable and stuck in a certain mindset (eg. thinking they don't need to muscle up in defence, thinking they can score from anywhere on the field to get themselves out of a mess). They need someone with new ideas, different training methods.. just different. We seem to have too many players with great potential that just seem to never reach it. I'd love Folkes to get his hands on our pack, and Lawrence and Ayshford.

I was shocked that we extended his contract. I had assumed that we got Folkes on board so there could be a smooth transition at the end of the year. I was at least heartened by Sheens comments about the extension - he kinda hinted that if they didn't make the 8 this year he would walk. It's Folkes for me, or Kearney.

The sooner Royce Simmons goes the better - gotta be the worst defensive coach in NRL history (I heard he has his nose out of joint with Folkes' appointment).

Finally a sensible and logical post. I'm not happy with the selection of Lazarus at 7 and then playing him at fullback. It effectively took Ryan out of the game and we've all seen how well he has gone at fullback in terms of running straight and hard and putting the Tigers on the front foot. Fitzy in the halves will do me…Plus it hardly suited Lazarus, he offered very little as a result. That's the first time Sheens has played players out of position this year.

Sheens got the selections wrong last night. Hopefully with Lui and Taumata due to return, he won't make the same mistake.

Didn't you hear? Sheens claims Taumata made a solid comeback for reserve grade yesterday.

Sure he wasn't on the field but after watching the team structure last night that sounds in step with Timmy's grasp of reality.

I rarely if ever have been this critical of Sheens in the past but last night was just the final straw. He refuses to recognise that two weeks in a row he has played a impactless bench and that this fact has burnt us to the point where even Gareth Ellis looked brain fried and exhausted out there from the workload he had to pick up

Last I heard the trainer/conditioner didnt pick the team, select people in key positions out of position, waste the reserves bench, coach skills in catching the high ball ,educate star players on the need to put the team before themselves etc etc.
But I reckon our trainer wld do a better job at these tasks than the incumbent though!
Its expensive to get rid of a coach prematurely-just ask the Sharks-but we were silly enough to ignore the past 4 years & sign him up yet again, believing that past behaviour is no predictor of future behaviour…yeah, right,& Ive got a bridge for sale.
So were stuck with the Sheens show until/if /when the Bunnies fall over & Sheens does an earlier than planned deal with Rusty..aces are all in his hand, not the long suffering fans experiencing yet another groundhog day in 2010

Right so it's the players we picked in the positions they played caused them to drop the ball and play busted for the majority of the game….....

Hey Geo if you are happy having Fitzy, Farah and Benji constantly rotating between positions in the halves and hooking positions and having a halfback playing at fullback whilst moving our one successfull fullback option to the wing than I salute you.

If you think the selection and rotation of our bench did not increase the fatigue levels of the starters than a second salute to you.

I am not calling for Sheens to be sacked immediatley but I am calling for a little accountability. The funniest example of Sheens out of touch is that he thought Taumata played reserve grade yesterday

Mate I'm not…

But given the loss of Moltzen the injury to Lui, Taumata as well as an underdone Lazarus in both experience and fitness I don't see we have much choice.....

I would move Farah to 7 if Lui's not fit...he spends enough time there now.... bring in Corby at least he can pass the ball and run from dummy half....that could be an epic fail as well

Benji should be nowhere near halfback......

Who knows maybe we should just raffle of the 7 jersey on Thursday's.....

Sheens never said Taumata played for Balmain. Joel Caine asked him on 2GB "maybe a change next week Tim with the possible return of Lui and that Taumata impressed in State cup today" (or words to that extent). Sheens brushed the question and talked about Lazarus.

I have waited 15 hours to post this.

Last night we saw Benji Marshall at half back and Fitz at 5/8.

Unbelievable.

Tim Sheens, you are an utter disgrace as a coach. **Benji is not a half back !!!**

**Fitzy is not a 5/8 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**

You have ruined players careers and have ruined this great team.

You will never learn. I could saw the look in the players faces when they ran on that they did not have the confidence of the team line up.
Well said Bug ….the fact his contract was extended was a disgrace....we all thought replacing Prince with Morris was just a bad nightmare now we are replacing Morris with Fitzhenry....god help us
Week after week, month after month, year after year it is the same old disgusting selections and positional changes.

You are wrong SHEENS.

We need 4 Powerful players on the bench and better forward rotation. Your arrogance is a disgrace. Your cowardess is as well. You avoided criticism by not posting your team in the positions you wanted them to play. Thats typical of you.

We need power. **WE ARE GETTING OUT-MUSCLED EVERYWHERE AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS SHEENS.**

I feel for our players. We have some great players, I mean that. Our players are fantastic, the coach is an absolute disgrace.

Daniella 3 minutes

Another year of this rubbish. :deadhorse:

The day you walk out of this club will be the happiest day of many people's lives.

Think the frustration being expressed by supporters on this forum at Sheens is not necessarily directed at this one losing match against a reasonably in form team…its a build up over the past 4+ seasons of similiar coaching shortfalls (catching the high ball/ridiculous flick passes et al ),clearly poor selections, nepotism (hello Royce/Fitzy?)& just the total lack of accountabilty which never seems to get addressed.Longmuir tried & look what happened to him.
Our results (or lack thereof)over this period speak for themselves,& its concerning & frustrating for supporters that this season appears to be headed down exactly the same path
Players make mistakes every game, otherwise the score wld be nil all,but we never seem to learn & address them..thats what a coach is for, surely?
And despite all this mediocrity our coach,as always putting the club first, finds the time to take on the Aust gig...pretty much sums it up for me..that,& one finals appearance in 13 years, which is the real exclamation mark

I knew I heard those words and that sheens was speaking, but wasnt really paying attention

My bad. I only went on what I was told in relation to the Taumata quote

After what I have witnessed over the past 2 weeks I must now demand that something be done with Teflon!!!!!!!
Before he gained his 1 year contract extension the Tigers were looking good. After he now has his security blanket of another 12 month 's in charge he is leading our team& us supporters into the "valley of death"- like the "light brigade" as we crumble under the total inepitude and insanity of his "royal highness's" diabolical & suicidal team selections of not only Fitznuffy(he is a joke) :astonished: but his positional changes as well as the back on the replacements bench!!!!!!!!!!!! it's embarrassing to watch the current team's deterioration over the past few weeks.
can someone in charge at Wests Tigers either sack him or "tell him" who should be picked- for example the Under 20's coach who has them firing on all cylinders.
We are heading for oblivion again in 2010 and I can't stand it when any body could select a better team than Teflon & his moron sidekick-Roy :unamused: . :deadhorse: :sign: :brick: 😛ray:
please hear my request!!!!!!!!!!! 😛ray:

Exactly. If we had have completed 80% of sets instead of 50% and been close to an even split in possession we would have won that game. I really don't think it's Sheens' fault that nobody contests a bomb when you're 2 points down with 6 to go…
