It would be cheaper to pay out Jason Taylors final two years than to get rid of Robbie.

ive never spoken down to you and have read through a lot of comments here that either match mine and or are even harsher but you have let them slip through …yet you assume im on team robbie and there that's obviously not in agreeance with you soooooooo

Wait till next year, tell him nothing then drop him then, now that certainly would not be treating Farah with respect

but this current situation has ?

the whole situation lacks class and respect.

Michael Ennis expressed that he was in the same position as farrah last year with the dogs.
obviously he wasnt a long standing player, but he was the captain and he was being moved on because he was not seen to fit in with the future plans.
The difference according to Ennis simply came down to HOW it was managed.

thats what we are really talking about here.

and regardless of what some people might think - if he was threaten - there is a problem.

if its a case of the club and jt can do whatever they want as his emplyer, surely there were far better options at hand to indirectly or directly force farrah out ?

But it was being managed with respect until Ayoub failed to inform Farah and some goose (likely Ayoub again) leaked it to the media

And Ennis was off contract, totally different situation.

I don’t always agree with everything Ink say’s, but I have known him for 40 years, and can assure you he doesn’t let emotion get in the way of his comments as many others do. He deals in facts, not in the hearsay and innuendo that flies around the media and forum.

Bobo, thanks for the Neg rating for this post champ… you just proved what a goose you are, I’m done with you, now go away

well how it was being handled - we'll agree to disagree - mainly because neither of us actually know the details of what was going on / said behind closed doors.

as for Ennis, yes he was off contract but the sentiment was very very close to the mark.
he was the captain of the side and was being moved on because he did not fit in with the future plans.

1 thing i do know is ANYTHING can be negotiated with the right tact.
regardless of the fact that Robbie had been with the club for xxxxx years, i do believe if the whole matter was handled better - a far better outcome for both parties could have been negotiated.
A smart operator could have used both benji and Ennis as great examples of how farah could have revived his form and that leaving the club could have been a very good thing for him.
just a thought …..

Difference is that Ennis is an adult. Accepted reality and moved on with his career and thrived. Farah chose the child like way. Sit in the corner and sook.

team JT aside mate - we all get your position on that

what PrattenParkMagpie and i are saying is that - if the club can do whatever they want ….. surely there was a better way to shaft someone ?

Payten is the best personality fit for the young players.

Kimmorley would make a good first grade assistant.

Kidwell should be left right out.

Griffin's number should be blocked.

The Walker brothers could be an inspired choice given how this team likes to play its football. Id definitely interview them.

Brown would be solid, a low risk choice.

The Walker Bros. for me too TITG. I read that Wayne Bennett loves the way Ben ans Shane are coaching the team and has been seen attending all of the Ipswich Jets games . He's trying to get the Broncos to play with more flair as well.
Two coaches for the price of one maybe?

yes apparently they are very very good player managers.
their style has taken the competition by storm this year
their is a little conjecture about if their style would work in the NRL comp but i agree - they would make great coaches from everything thats been said and written about them.

I'm not totally sold on JT either. I'm convinced Fsrah had to go though.
In what way would you have done it so that Farah would have taken out better?
And please don't start on about court cases and all that crap.

no mate - i would avoid court and media as much as possible in anything like this.
i would have tapped into his manager and others close to him if possible to get an understanding of how he was feeling towards the club, the team, the roster, the coach - everything.

there were suggestions he was thinking of giving up the captaincy and that he was even thinking 1 more year then off to Euro land.
i would have looked into all of this and then talked with him about the success other players like benji ennis and alot more have had when they have made what they believe to be the hardest decision of their lives - leave a club they have been to all their life.
Theirs a human touch involved here where it would have been paramount to show him he can succeed elsewhere and still get the ultimate "thankyou for service" from the tigers as a organization.
if the club is as special to him as what he says - the salary cap preasures could be explained and i would still work towards paying him whatever he was due for the period he decided to stay.
hes a club legend so there will always be a place for him in the history books etc.
i mean its a delicate act of dealing with sports stars egos but it can all be done if its managed and handled in a way where people speak with each honestly and respectfully.

So Wayne Bennett has seen structure and wrestle dominate the game the last however many years, has competed and won premierships during that time but is out there in Ipswich looking for the next big thing in coaching.

And our guy is trying to make us play like the Roosters, a style that doesnt even suit our playing squad. Then he tries to get rid of the captain when the players ask the captain to have a word to him.

Yeah no issue here, move on

That's telling him to have one more year. How would you tell him you got to go now and not upset him?

yeah the whole thing would be upsetting to him and anyone in this position.

its about turning that hurt / upset feelings - into a positive.
and there are a lot of positives that could be attained by starting fresh somewhere else.

we all heard benji and the things he said when he left the tigers.
now, he says its what he needed and it in hindsight was the best thing he did.
thats the type of conversations you have.
psotive …. for him....positive for the club....positive for the fans......positive for anyone whos thinking of joning the tigers....players or sponsors...

Holt crap, we're agreeing. …so far anyway.
So what happens next when your manager goes into the market and finds out no one wants you?

Well, we've seen what has happened.

So glad someone can see this ..a point that seems to have been glossed over in general….the Club were obliging to Farah's managers wishes by keeping it behind closed doors ....when Ritchie broke the 'story'..Ikin on NRL 360 asked Kent how the media got wind of it he said it came from inside the Farah camp....that forced the Club to issue the original statement....then the ensuing circus began...

Well, we've seen what has happened.

i dont think - "know one wants him".
i just think the timing is bad in the sense that most if not all clubs arent in a position to make a big call on the hooker position at this time of the year / late
+ planning for 2016 would have begun a while ago…..

i also think their is a little bit of gamesmanship going on from the other clubs.
they know WT have to pay the balance of his contract so its quiet easy to say - this late in the year we have allocated most of our cap.... we can only afford xxx$
obviously the lower the better so the Tigers pick up the balance and they get a $750k valued player dirt cheap.

annnnd i also think some clubs are merely sitting back and awaiting "further developments"
this is like a hot potato.... they might not want to make a play until it all cools down.

just thoughts ......

I'm just watching Toovey on NRL360\. Now there's a bloke that would have 100% of manly fans behind him. Look how he's handled it. Copped out on the chin, accepted the clubs decision and is going out head held high with class. He hasn't let his manager tutn it into a circus and a PR exercise

That's a man.

Fair enough. All probably close to the mark. But it's only really messing with Farahs career. Ayoub should be focusing that. the tigers losing a PR battle isn't really helping him.

completely agree about Toovey.
i will say though, manly did learn from their mistakes with how they handled the glen Stewart drama and ensured nothing was said publically or privately to inflame the situation.
both parties didnt want to turn it into a circus and as much as toovey was upset he did handle it with class.

at this stage i dont think its messing with his career per sae.
i think it is messing with his head - in that he knows he might not be the 1 club player he always thought he would be.

Tigers losing the PR battle is in a way the bigger issue here.
and sorry to go back to previous comments but for the team to perform the way they did this year under the coach at hand - they should of ensured there were no "additional" negative stories coming out of tiger land ! !
especially not from JT who is perceived quite badly by many on his time so far at the tigers
