It would be cheaper to pay out Jason Taylors final two years than to get rid of Robbie.

i dont think - "know one wants him".
i just think the timing is bad in the sense that most if not all clubs arent in a position to make a big call on the hooker position at this time of the year / late
+ planning for 2016 would have begun a while ago…..

i also think their is a little bit of gamesmanship going on from the other clubs.
they know WT have to pay the balance of his contract so its quiet easy to say - this late in the year we have allocated most of our cap.... we can only afford xxx$
obviously the lower the better so the Tigers pick up the balance and they get a $750k valued player dirt cheap.

annnnd i also think some clubs are merely sitting back and awaiting "further developments"
this is like a hot potato.... they might not want to make a play until it all cools down.

just thoughts ......

Normally that sort of nonsense only lasts until someone makes a genuine offer, and the competitors have to better it or drop out.

In this case, Farah gets his whole contract paid anyway. If Newcastle offer $700k and Souths offer $250k, what does Farah care? He will just pick the club he likes best.

Fair enough. All probably close to the mark. But it's only really messing with Farahs career. Ayoub should be focusing that. the tigers losing a PR battle isn't really helping him.

at this stage i dont think its messing with his career per sae.
i think it is messing with his head - in that he knows he might not be the 1 club player he always thought he would be.

Tigers losing the PR battle is in a way the bigger issue here.
and sorry to go back to previous comments but for the team to perform the way they did this year under the coach at hand - they should of ensured there were no "additional" negative stories coming out of tiger land ! !
especially not from JT who is perceived quite badly by many on his time so far at the tigers

However it wasnt from JT…it was from sam Ayoub.....you keep ignoring the points you want to ignore
You dribble so much crap...its unbelievable

Thats correct !

Farah w ill get the full amount no matter what.
But as a club, if you know the other party pays the balance - mate you will attempt to pay as little as possible ….
ilooking at the hookers in the nrl at all clubs, i think most clubs will actually low ball the tigers big time considering nearly all the teams have pretty good hookers on pretty good money.
this is a win win for which ever club picks up Farah and using the cap as the excuse... i wouldnt be surprised for a second if someone offers $200k with tigers paging the bal.

sorry….what dribble did i leave out ?
what here is unbelievable inny
are you not able to follow the discussion or is there some other issues going on with you that may explain a few things ?
.....we are talking with you buddddy

I look forward to the day players can take their club to court for being dropped to, or being threatened to drop to, reserve grade.

Lots of respect going around for Toovey being sacked, for Potter not being extended, for Ennis being moved on… for how they handled it and how they copped difficult decisions with public grace.

I am not seeing the same reaction from Farah's camp, the amount of fight that has gone into attacking WT.

Will be interesting now to see how Newcastle go..

the one coach who i think we should have got, Nathan Brown will take over an equally poor team at Newy.

his credentials certainly look good…

i think the Tigers flipped the coin on Taylor.. and it hasn't gone the way the fans wanted

Going off my calculations..I think the answers is "Yes". It would be cheaper.

Did you take into calculation the added cost for WT to employ a new coach with good credentials and experience? After all the last thing WT would want to do is to go through the fourth coaching crisis in four year (Sheens, Potter, Taylor) with the new coach. That is what I would call a real catastrophe.

We got a ready made replacement according to Buzz…

NOD OF APPROVAL

The Wests Tigers have a ready-made replacement for Jason Taylor. Brett Kimmorley has done his apprenticeship as an assistant coach and is highly rated around the clubs.

His name has been mentioned inside the Wests Tigers boardroom as an option.

Didn't know Buzz was mates with Noddy.

I have watched the under 20's a bit this season and they would be the worst coached side that I have seen for along time ..the only reason they are where they are is pure individual talent ..Kimmorley is a garbage coach .

Id expect there would be a good chance the under 20's would be instructed to play the same game plan as the NRL squad. Unity in coaching and players understanding of the clubs new structure and all.

Ill judge Kimmorley when he is in a position to implement his own ideas. He couldnt even convince them to keep Martin, had to go to the media to talk him up in the hope he got a good deal somewhere else.

Just another pawn in this whole sorry story.

Why is he such a garbage coach?
I don't watch much 20s… Genuinely interested

Well I have read all the posts regarding Taylor and Farah my opinion is this Taylor should be sacked after telling our capt and longest serving player he is not wanted next year and if he stays he will be playing reserve grade, Taylor is a joke of a coach and the sooner we punt him and get Toovey the better

With the side Noddy has at his disposal they in all honesty should be a top 3 team but alas they were at risk of missing the finals for the first time in 5-6 years. If you look at the side from 2-17 they could all potentially grow to be first graders. They have lost to teams that they should have won easily this year and on top of that I don't understand playing players out of position. Seve has been sacrificed.

On a side note hearing him commentate on Fox gives you an insight on his thoughts on the game as well and by gee it does not look promising. I remember hearing him commentate the Knights V Titans game in rainy weather and the knights were up by about 6 points with 50 seconds to go before half time and the knights naturally went for a goal but Kimmorley the genius started "blowing up" saying it was absurd they would not try and do for a try about 25m out. To me that is really concerning. It really is. But what is even more concerning is why he was hired to begin with to nuture such phenomenal talent that we are so lucky to have been afforded.

Not to mention promoting your star #6 to rival clubs.

According to Kimmorley, who coaches the young gun in the 20s, Martin could be an option for the Titans should they elect not to shell out big money on an experienced half.

_“If they are looking to buy the next up and coming kid then maybe Te Maire Martin,” Kimmorley offered.\
\
“He is off contract at the Tigers and the next gun kid coming through.”_

Two sides to every story…..I will wait until the truth comes out.....Toovey may not be the coach for our squad,he may not even be interested in coaching here.......

What an extraordinarily long bow to draw.

What, all the non-firsts teams play with the same game plan as firsts, even though the players are radically different?

Now JT is responsible for the performance of the NYC team? Actually they came 5th right, does Taylor get credit for their performances? Can he count this as a finals success?
