That's disappointing. I thought something that serious, fraud and people trying to obtain financial benefit by deception is something for which you'd keep evidence. That's either very unfortunate or you are trying to make yourself important in an anonymous world. I'm guessing it's just unfortunate.

Yes I totally get we all want to know what's going on at the club ,totally understandable , but when its bringing down the club at the same time how can it help ??

It's at a point now where just keeping Tedesco and Brooks would satisfy me. Drives me nuts that our captain sits at pressers week after week looking like a homeless vagabond and sounding like a dole blugger. Not sure why a journo didn't ask him flat out if he was staying. They probably know like us though that he never backs the club.

Yeah occasionally Gunners , but the reason the press comes after us is because they can get the right info so easily and then attack the club and players with it

Maybe feel differently if we were a Top 4-8 side but we aren't

I'm confident we'll find someone if he goes. According to Paul Kent, some clubs have spent 10 plus million on their cap when it could be in the mid to low 8s. It means for a change we with cash and room can pick and chose from other clubs. :smiley:

Our club should be commended if that's true. We could potentially build a strong roster regardless of what Woods and Tedesco do.

Most of us don't know much of anything about where SG gets his info, what he was up to last time, how correct it is or is not.

A lot of supporters take comfort in hearing tidbits, especially during times like these, even if they have a good chance of not being true. Posters on here have their agendas but it's not quite so sensationalised like journos in the papers - there might be egos but forum members aren't selling anything.

So imagine there was no "inside word' or noise, just whatever the papers said plus WT press releases. People in this forum would be losing their minds, all the public misinformation and nobody within the forum appearing to know anything, not having anything to say. At least most of the people in the forum have the club's best interests at heart, even many of those who post insider info, whereas the media does not care.

There's a reason Tiger Torch was so popular in here, he/she just seemed to be on the money and most of what was posted was not slanderous. People looked to that kind of information because it was in the middle of the JT/Farah saga and people had serious concerns about decisions the club and coach appeared to be making (e.g. player selections, salary cap etc.). People just wanted some reassurance, some information to give context to what they could see from the outside.

I totally get what you mean about club leaks, they can be damaging. At the same time, honestly very little of what gets posted on here makes it to the media. And I don't mean Ali's rumours and other Facebook nonsense, everyone knows that is like the Woman's Day of football news. I mean legit paper stories, journos can't afford to run information from forums, they need to have information confirmed themselves, by their own sources.

How regularly, honestly, did you see Tiger Torch's or smoking gun's information hit the media without some kind of confirmation external to the forum? In fact smoking gun appears to be providing information contrary to a lot of what is being reported.

The last point I have is that whilst there are leaks, I'd be more worried about the leaks that hit the journos from within the club, not the forum. If JT really heard the noise about his sacking from twitter, and if that was a leak rather than an educated guess, that is quite bad. Journos can often guess what is going on, if they catch wind of a special board meeting or a press conference, they can speculate.

Do you not ever consider that sometimes the club permits these little leaks to the forum, to unofficially provide some counter-information? The papers pick up contract figures, for example, and the club is not going to come out and provide press releases every time to correct the numbers. In fact the club NEVER provides the numbers, just sometimes they say things like "those figures are inaccurate". So we have someone like SG who is posting what appears to be insider info, and if some of it is true, or at least contradicts the papers, the club might not mind that. They might even allow certain facts to come out via social media, provide them with an outlet to counter the rumour-mongering in the paper without having to officially state anything.
