What will they sue him for though?

The article didn't go into details CB and I'm not a lawyer, but I assume the victims of the assault and harassment can (or have) sought compensation in the civil court against Lodge.

I recall in the OJ Simpson murder trial, OJ was found not guilty. The families of the two murder victims took action in the civil court and were awarded $25m in punitive damages.

As I say, if the Australian article is accurate, this doesn't appear to be over for Lodge.

Good question CB. I can't imagine he has many assets.

I seem to recall that in the OJ case the victims families claimed that they were not interested in the money. They just wanted justice to be seen to be done. Perhaps Lodges' victims feel that the criminal courts have not dealt with the matter adequately, and that they want to take the matter further.

The victims deserve compensation and the only way they will get that is if he plays football the victims lawyer said a few weeks ago when they went to court that he was a big time football player and he wants money for the victims so the lawyer is counting the money for the victims and so he should but how does he get the money for them that's the hard part

i believe that somewhere deep down inside - Lodgey is a victim. He's not a monster. I don't condone this behaviour - but rest assured it's seed was planted in childhood. And because he lives in the lucky country & I don't say that lightly - I'm willing to give him another chance to grow - if he commits his life to helping others. And as far as football goes - Lodgey is a talent - that's what in fact - makes this story so depressing. Under Bennett Lodgey might find another father figure.

IF the Nrl let him play under strict conditions and the money he makes goes to the victims and he gets 10000 hours community service hours then ok but must do at least 25 hours aweek service hours to play put him in a soup kitchen peeling vegetables and cleaning public toilets

Well if we want the best result for the victims Lodge should be given a good paying job so he can afford compensation and pay his parents back.
