It's okay to lose.

i find it bemusing that people think accepting loss is a sign of weakness and somewhat diminishes a "winning culture"
Most successful teams focus on process not results and are usually amazing at brushing off losses and accepting losses, learning and moving on.
Im sure Ive said this before, cause I say it alot, winning and losing isn't the best indication of how you have played, Bob Dwyer used to say to us all the time If the wallabies got beat by the All Blacks by a late a penalty goal there is a channce they have played pretty close to the peak ability, if they beat Japan by a couple tries, there is a good chance they have played fairly poorly.

You can play well and lose and play poorly and win.

accepting a loss doesn't make you weak or negative or any of the other such thing.

After seeing Souths last night Iam more convinced we have the wrong cattle for what is required to win the NRL in 2013\. The game is based on size and power in the forwards and much the same in the backs. Their is no way in the world we can defend a team like Souths with our pack for any length of time and with their big men targeting our weaker defenders on the edges it will get ugly. I might be wrong but I see us getting steam rolled by the better sides.
The game on monday night will be probably a good indication how long the season will be for us. Poor Potter has inherited a very poorly recruited team from Sheens so he cant be held responsible.

Agree wholeheartedly, Supercoach. The game is very much based on size and power across the park these days and unfortunately we just don't have a lot of that in many positions. I know our boys will give it their all against the big sides, but these teams just wear you down in the end. I hate to say it, but I am actually dreading the day we play Souths.

And the scary thing is it will take us more than 1 season to recruit the right cattle or feed the juniors coming through to match these sides with a power game

i hope potter doesnt tell the boys "its ok to lose fellas"

Im sure he wont
But thats not what were saying here….its about taking positives out of a negative result, the final scoreline isnt the be all and end all of a game and a weeks prep

Hope Potter can see this & make the right adjustments down the track.
Souths made Easts look small.
The game is changing.
Sheens didnt seem to notice this.

The game today that Bellamy invented is very simple, experienced solid front rowers that make plenty of charges up the middle, two big young units, one on the left edge and one on the right, that hit the ball up with unbelievable power and usually directed at opposition playmakers. Plenty of discipline, plenty of ball control and a great kicking game , They do this for set after set and when they have the other team on the canvas they apply the blow tourch,
They do this well because they have the best club spine I can ever remember.

We are better equipped this year to handle this style of football and even play it but I still think we are behind the better teams. We will have some really good games in 2013, but with our squad it will be very hard to maintain the rage
