Ivans two kids are in school here, doubt he would be moving too far away.

I think we are front runners on this one tbh, fingers crossed too.

Pretty sure there are schools all over Australia. Maybe nz too.

Once you have started your hsc course it is near impossible to move schools as you will have a whole semester to catch up on, chances of his kids moving schools are near zilch.

Dunno about this. One game off the grand final last year. This year the Panthers used almost 40 players. They had so many injuries even their 2nd tier players were gone.

And cleary saying no to a coaching position at an nrl club is less than zilch.

Gees, Gould is sweeping the broom through the place. I'd think the S+C guys would be the first to go given their injuries last year.

I saw Gould interviewed just before the semis and he basically said he didn't think there was anything the S&C team could do this season, that the injuries were just bad luck.

Maybe we are a slim chance to get him as an assistant for this year, unless there is a mob ready to take him as head coach already. McFadden might be a little nervous. And gee, he'd spewing if he got the flick with Luke & Tuavasi-Sheck about to join them.

And they STILL finished above us.

But to quote our Head Coach: " we are improving!"

Buggered if i know how you can have a crippling injury toll like that 2 yrs in a row and say that the S/C is tip top. One yr, maybe you could get away with. 2? I'm not so sure.

Dont think many parents would be keen in moving their child in the HSC year - certainly not ideal.

There are some good coaches on the market at the moment. Ivan Cleary joining Geoff Toovey as two coaches most clubs would love to have at the helm.

He could go on his pat, and leave the wife and kids behind. NZ is only a three hour plane ride away.

Lol no we aren't

We have Phil Moss and Pascoe, they would be in his ear.

Heard Ryan Girdler say Pascoe and Cleary are very close.

Keep those fingers crossed !

the rumour was that Ivan was sick of Gus butting in on him and he wanted to be able to run the team how he wanted. ill see if i can find it but I would love Ivan at the Tigers works really well in developing a young roster and getting players playing to their ability

Ivan Cleary would change the ballgame. He got the Warriors spending $800k under the old salary cap to the GF. He can coach they had a horrendous injury toll.

The Warriors are on the verge of something special, the last piece of the puzzle is the right coach. Cleary knows the club and to date, is the only coach whose ever had any success with them, one of 2 if you want to include Daniel Anderson 13 yrs ago. Do you really think he's going to pass this opportunity up if it was presented to him because his kids are at school? Not likely.

How do we know Warriors even want him? Mcfadden built the club and made it what it is today, some astute buys, the players love him and pushed for him to become coach. Would be unfair to sack him before RTS and Luke arrive.
