except their is a cap on coaching staff and the payout to Griffin has to be included in it.

Don’t think so….cap on operations....not coaches...club can structure operations anyway they want

Coach is included.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/02/05/winning-starts-monday-nrl-coaches-get-extra-job-security/

Fair enough…thanks for clarifying...$5.7m is pretty big sum, Griffin was on $750k per year
...I reckon Gould would have a coaches sombrero anyways .....

$5.7m is a pretty big sum, but it includes all costs of Football Operations, including all coaching staff, all medical staff, all Operations staff, all recruitment staff, all performance staff, all welfare staff, training camps and all operational costs including gym equipment.

5 clubs had to cut back on operational costs because they were already spending over $5.7m prior to the cap.

I was talking to an ex-bronco player a few weeks ago who is still involved with the commercial side of the club (but not an employee) and he was saying the current playing group are well and truly off Bennett. "They can't stand him" was how it was described.

Apparently he won't be there next year and it's all a stand off as if he leaves under his own steam they don't have to pay him but if he's sacked it will cost about 1.3 mil to pay him out and the club looks bad so Bennett wins the PR battle. Assuming this is true I reckon it could well be Bennett Gould is waiting on as Bennett wants to coach but doesn't want to coach in the super league or want a project club like GC. He'll be trophy hunting. Am also guessing Gus thinks a coach like Bennett could get that last 10% out of the players to win a comp.

Gould said on 9 the coach doesn't become available until next year. That is not Cleary. I say Seibold but this speculation suits Gould,.

Gould just said on TV they have someone in mind for next season and are waiting for an answer from that person. So he has targeted someone from another club surely. His answer is it someone with proven NRlL catching experience - "Absolutely"

Gould also said things two weeks back which have proven to be false, or lies.
I take everything he says with skepticism

Has to be Bennett, Cleary or Barrett (marginal).
>
I would back Bennett strongly after what he said. but wouldn't shock me if it was Cleary.

Why cant it be Maguire, or Hasler?

Everyone needs to get their heads out of the clouds with the romantic idea that Ivan would never leave because he has values and is a man of his word :blah :blah

The way Gus signed him the first time was getting him to leave the Warriors mid contract.

I'd be surprised gus would go for Bennett after what Bennett did when Gus tried to get him to go to the roosters.
He blackfipped on a handshake deal after Gus sacked his coach (I think it was Ricky).

I reckon we'll find out if Ivan's thinking about going after next week's game.
If we give a good account of ourselves. He's staying.
If we get pumped , we get pumped because he's going or hasn't commited to the players that he's staying.

"Wests Tigers chairwoman Marina Go has declared she expects Ivan Cleary to see out his contract at the club despite interest from Penrith to reunited him with son Nathan at the Panthers."

What "interest from Penrith" is this clown referring to? The only "interest" we know of is what is being invented by commentators. Then, like fools that we are, we mistake that for being information rather than fantasy.

Our team have already have given him about twice the grey hairs he had when arriving - he doesn't need more.

More importantly has Robbie given any interviews recently and what has slippery Sam being up to?

Ivan has two years to run on his contract money shouldn't be a problem at the Wests Tigers he has a good relationship with Pascoe and the Board thinks the sun shines out of his
???? He knows how Gus operates WHY would you go back this rumour seems to be all about retaining Nathan not Ivan and Ivan would be smart enough to know that.

I think it will be Bennett. He’s more likely to get a release. Brisbane have made it clear he’s gone after 2019, so I doubt they would make him see out 2019 if he had another offer on the table. Broncos will probably then go all out for Seibold. If they can’t get him for 2019, they might take on a caretaker for next year. Regardless, it will come out in the next couple of days who the real target is. These things always leak.

Seibold to Panthers ?
Just the type of coach Gus is after
New coach with new ideas
Seibolds continued coaching career at the Rabbits has already been in the media linking him to Brisbane

I believe that all this talk about Ivan going to penrith is a deliberate smokescreen Gould has created so he can line up the walking dead from the broncos.
We shall see
