Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Gotta acknowledge Gus’ tactics here,:
Building block;
He came out last week and talked up the importance of the father & son relationship of Ivan and Nathan.
Curve ball;
He then stated that he would grant Nathan a release to join his father at the Tigers, thus blindsiding the tigers and fans.
Knife attack;
While we’ve been rejoicing in the streets over Gus’ reunion comments he initiates his master plan to lure his father to the panthers, thus allievating any decision on Nathan’s part.

I don’t think Ivan is that dumb, Gould does not want Ivan but it’s the shortcut to securing Nathan long term.

Only part missing Tony is the fact Ivan and Gus spoke about this two weeks ago so Ivan was well aware of what was happening.

You have to give it to Gus, he's a master manipulator.
I really wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
All i hope is that IC see's this for what it is, but only time will tell.
Not that IC will care if he does take it, but he will a take a huge shot to his integrity - but hey as everyone is wont to say these days "its only business, not personal" - just like the Mafia after they take out you and your family.

I will also be a Tigers supporter but i think my 30 years of membership and general interest in the Nrl will also be shot…..sleeping with the fishes....

This is only a week ago, by all reports AFTER he met with anyone regarding the Panthers. None of it sounds remotely like he is thinking of leaving.

If he doesn't leave, this thread is going to be hilarious to read back on. Some of his most staunch defenders have completely turned. Do they do a complete 360 if he does stay and go back to supporting him unconditionally?

If he does leave, it tops anything Taylor did, and i dare say the forums opinion of Cleary will be lower than JT.

Hahaha very true…..we reserve the right to blah blah blah....

I heard from some guy on facebook that Ivan likes pineapple on pizza

Sadly, we're the dunces of the league when it comes to footy street smarts.

Fans will feel a bit cheated by Ivan if he does leave, but I think the rest of the footy community won't bat an eyelid. The story of a coach swallowing his pride to be re-united with his son will be the big story.

i highly doubt ivan is going anywhere…
he built the bus....
it is funny reading all this speculation though.

If Cleary leaves it will be one of the biggest dog acts i've ever seen in the NRL. And it will far outweigh anything Taylor or Moses did. Cleary has put this team together, predominantly a compilation of players he's coached previously, and now he's walking out to leave some other coach to come and try and clean up the mess. His credibility in the game would be zero.

I think Ivan will stay and continue his job in building the Tigers, part of that rebuild will include Nathan, no problems as long as our board stays firm and we buy intelligently over the next 2 seasons

They cant force him to Coach the team if he doesnt want to.
They **can** stop him from going to Penrith though. ,
but that doesnt help us , whats the point of that.
itd be even worse than having a player in the team , that didnt want to be there

Ivan hates Gus. I'm told there's zero chance of him going back to Penrith. Won't happen.

When did you get this info Yoss?

Any chance you can find out the lateat from your source?

Someone who I believe knows about such things. I was told Ciraldo is strongly supported and that Cleary was basically no chance. I don't know what goes on in Gould's head though.

Cheers Yoss, and I don't think even Gus knows what is going on in his head these days

When he saw what a clapped out piece of crap he made he is running for his life.

So are you hearing that IC is gone now?
