Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Option A:

+ Go to Penrith which have a great centre of excellence, good roster and great depth….

 Work with your beloved Son.

- Work for putrid dog Phil Gould micro managing you and over ruling every decision of it isn't Gus's way. Be the most hated man in rugby league for the next 18-24 months.

Option B)

+ stay at the tigers and see out the dream you sold us. The bus keeps rolling. A place where you are loved and respected.

 Bring your son Nathan over and make your dream a reality. Brooks/Cleary halves combo is one for the story books. Magical even.

- Show the world you aren't a dog that can be walked on by Gould and Be a man of honour.

Interesting tweet from Gould earlier after someone said that he should apologize to the Tigers members…which Gus 'liked'

Its an interesting tweet alright.

Could mean a number of things though. My first thought is that he is saying Cleary went to them.

This!

Ivan wants desperately to coach Nathan
Nathan says he’s not leaving Penrith
Ivan goes to plan B

Good point. If that's the case, PG would be negligent not to meet with Ivan and has probably copped a lot of abuse that probably should be aimed at IC.

Pretty much sums up what 99% percent of the NRL family think. Trust is a funny thing, once it’s broken it never comes back.

Bet he will not be coaching from the sidelines again this year, and one word to Penrith, beware of a snake

This is not helping our preparation for this weeks must win game, positive comments would be good, IC and the team need to concentrate on the weekend game.

I’m laying 100% blame for bulldogs loss at Cleary’s feet. We will get smashed this weekend- again 100% on Cleary. Season over.

I wonder how Chris Lawrence, a man of true values, is feeling this morning. Busts his ass all season only to have yet another finals chance stoken from him.

Ivan has let alot of people down. I hope it’s worth it.

Thinking about all this last night.

Lets look at the facts.

Ivan met with the Panthers Chairman/CEO. No drama's here they are friends and could have simply been meeting about Nathan. As far as we know it was the panthers who initiated this meeting not Ivan

Ivan Informed Justin on Monday after the Griffin got sacked. That he had met with the Panthers. However no release has been asked for.

Pascoe and the club have said there would be no release granted IF one was asked for.

There has only been one person who has said it was Ivan who bought up the idea of going straight away and that is Paul Kent. As far as i am aware no other person has come out and said this.

Brain Fletcher from the Panthers came out and said nothing has been offered to Ivan as of yet.

It seems like we are all jumping on Ivan due to what Paul Kent said. He has no proof, he is the only one that has bought that up. Maybe just maybe he hasn't got this correct?

Ivan needs to publicly come out and state his intentions.
IT Is not fair on our players club or fans and other stakeholders.
If its his intention to leave he should immediately step down with an interim coach appointed till this is sorted.
There is a massive conflict of interest now and perhaps Ivan should be made to stand down from running the first grade team and be made sit out the last few years of his contract
Yes its a serious business now so is signing contracts!

Forget player swaps .. money only thank you enough to sign a top notch coach for minimum 3 yrs with his staff. Player swaps are for pussys.

Reasoned post. Journos take nothing or one fact and spin a whole story out of it all the time.

Still nothing concrete to suggest that any wrong doing has been done. I'll give Cleary the benefit of the doubt until he otherwise gives me reason not to. Still seems odd that he'd just walk back to a place where he got rissoled.

Hey, but never mind all that. I'm a proud Wests Tigers supporter busy sharpening my pitchfork. No rumour is too big for me.
By the way, when will Curtis Rona arrive?

For the people saying it’s not true - based off Fletchers comments of him not being offered a contact are delusional!

Of course they’re offered him a contract! What is he meant to say “yeah we’ve offered a contract to a coach who has over 2 years left on his deal and we’re waiting for a response”

Ivan has a thread..

I wanted to base this thread of messages to Ivan instead of discussing what we should do with him

<ceo@weststigers.com.au>would be your best bet…WTF not so much</ceo@weststigers.com.au>

It beats me how you can know all those facts yet not be aware of this

"We asked if Ivan had an interest in our coaching position and he said 'yes'," Panthers chief executive Brian Fletcher told Fairfax Media."

It changes everything.

So what would we all say if iC and JP have a conference today to say they’ve extended his contract another 2 years?
Would we all say that he’s still shifty and not trust what he’s doing?
There’s allegedly a good chance he was blindsided by this offer from Penrith, and like any person core values or not he would naturally think them over, it would only be human not to.
Hopefully today this is all put to bed one way or the other and we can all move forward….
1 Cleary stays and everything keeps on moving, albeit with NC coming soon
2 Cleary goes, someone like a Maguire comes in and galvanizes everything and we become stronger....
